  1. scroll after clicking the mouse wheel, however, not all of the time. So how do you make it do that? Earlier this evening it was working on the Mozilla Support site but now it won't do it. It did it somewhere else also, so I'm thinking it was the way I clicked it or something. I'd install the FF extension, however, it says not to if your mouse already does it.

  2. If you don't mind the cost of sales tax and a postage stamp, Best Buy is literally offering Fix-Utilities 6 for free this week. I did a search and it sounds like a half decent product. I think I'll get it because I can see myself needing "Includes a free version of Recovery Commander that restores your non-booting system back to normal" some day!

  3. that even with a firewall (ZoneAlarmPro) and a good Anti-Virus program (NOD32) you still need their protection. Do you agree? I was searching a reg cleaner once and it actually directed me to a site with a bunch of porn links and NOD32 immediately launched its ugly red eye and warned me of a trojan.

  4. RegSeeker is Freeware. It is also one of the most powerful (too powerful I guess) registry cleaners available. Although it does have a backup option, I've decided to use it only after uninstalls and in the following manner: One of its options is "Find In Registry". I uninstalled Ewido, an anti-trojan program, ran some other reg cleaners and then entered ewido in the find format and it found 11 references. I then used RegistryMechanic, always my benchmark, and it came up 0! I've had similar results before, even after using Mechanic first.

I'll probably stay away from it for general reg cleanup or after installs, however, I'll continue to use it in this fashion.

    Still risky Dj?

  5. As I've said before. you are all great! I'm 57, father of four! They're basically all out of the nest now so I am relying on you all for help. I should get the windows 98 (came with 95 which was terrible), 233mhz out of the basement and see what I can mess up, like restoring an old car.

  6. Correct! Since shredders write zeros over your drive, I am presuming that after you "clean" your computer, via any method (source), that data, files, whatever just keep being re-written on the same general area that has just been cleaned. Or, is my entire internet history (no, its not what you're thinking, the worst sites I visit are a couple of sports message boards) still on my computer? Just curious, because at work I check this site three or four times a day when I should be working! lol
