Whoops, I'll add/remove the entries above next version.
I believe that should indeed be a pipe symbol. And yeah, 3 filekey3's is probably a no-no. Whoops!
Thanks!

Thanks for the update.
Missed entries / suggestions:
I found some typos:
[Teamviewer Past Connections*]
LangSecRef=3024
Detect=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer\
Default=False
RegKey1=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer\Version5|Last_Machine_Connections
RegKey2=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer\Version5.1|Last_Machine_Connections
RegKey3=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer\Version6|Last_Machine_Connections
RegKey4=HKCU\Software\TeamViewer\Version7\Last_Machine_Connections
FileKey1=%AppData%\TeamViewer|*.*
And does anybody know if the backslash before "Last_Machine_Connections" is correct on RegKey4? Shouldn't it be a pipe | symbol?
[Ability Office*]
LangSecRef=3021
Detect=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\
Default=False
RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\Ability Write\Files
RegKey2=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\Ability Database\Recent File List
RegKey3=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\Ability PhotoPaint\Recent File List
RegKey4=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\Ability PhotoPaint Studio\Recent File List
RegKey5=HKCU\Software\Ability 6.0\Ability Spreadsheet\Recent File List
FileKey1=%Documents%\My Ability Files|*.*|RECURSE

What do you guys think would be best? The DetectFile for flash or the DetectFile for Chome(s)
Also with Chrome the temp folders for Flash are still the same, so the DetectFile for Flash should be enough.
Based on the recent discussion, here is my suggestion for the Flash entries:
[Adobe Flash Player More*] LangSecRef=3023 Detect=HKCU\Software\Macromedia\FlashPlayer DetectFile=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\ Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\AssetCache|*.*|RECURSE FileKey2=%WinDir%\System32\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log FileKey3=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log [Adobe Flash Player Settings*] LangSecRef=3023 Detect=HKCU\Software\Macromedia\FlashPlayer DetectFile=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\ Warning=This will delete all your settings, including saved data from flash games! Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE FileKey2=%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE
-
are all those DetectFiles necessary for Flash Player More*?
why not use a DetectFile for the flash folder itself?
DetectFile1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\
You are absolutely right! We can use the path of a FileKey line also for a DetectFile line. Sometimes you don't see the obvious.
-
My settings.sol does not contain the domain information because I have the following settings selected (for security reasons) via the Flash control panel applet:
- Block all sites from storing information on this computer.
- Block all sites from using the camera and microphone.
- Block all sites from using peer-assisted networking.
I use the same settings. That's why I wrote this previous post: 1711. But I think that most users never change the settings, so maybe the new and more "aggressive" entry could be better. But because we don't know what the majority wants, your suggestion for a separate entry would be a fair solution.
-
I do not like the suggestion of this modification to Flash Player More*. Deleting settings.sol deletes the global settings of Flash Player as set up via the Flash Player Control Panel applet.
Yes, I know this. But as Nergal wrote already, a bad thing is that the "settings.sol" also contains a complete list of all visited domains using flash! I don't know what is more important here, settings or privacy?
If you want to keep your settings you can add this line:
ExcludeKey1=FILE|%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys|settings.sol

Updated!
Thanks for the updated file. You've missed few posts / entries: #1695 and #1690.
Maybe you can modify the "Flash Player" entry and add a warning message:
[Adobe Flash Player More*] LangSecRef=3023 Detect1=HKCU\Software\Macromedia\FlashPlayer Detect2=HKCU\Software\Chromium DetectFile1=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile2=%ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile3=%localappdata%\Flock\Application\flock.exe DetectFile4=%ProgramFiles%\Flock\Application\flock.exe DetectFile5=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome SxS\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile6=%ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome SxS\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile7=%localappdata%\SRWare Iron\iron.exe DetectFile8=%ProgramFiles%\SRWare Iron\iron.exe DetectFile9=%ProgramFiles%\Chromium\chrome.exe DetectFile10=%localappdata%\Chromium\chrome.exe DetectFile11=%ProgramFiles%\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile12=%localappdata%\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile13=%AppData%\ChromePlus\chrome.exe DetectFile14=%localappdata%\RockMelt\Application\rockmelt.exe DetectFile15=%ProgramFiles%\RockMelt\Application\rockmelt.exe DetectFile16=%LocalAppData%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe DetectFile17=%ProgramFiles%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe Warning=This will delete your settings, including saved data from flash games! Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE FileKey2=%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE FileKey3=%WinDir%\System32\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log FileKey4=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log

itd be easier to just set a detect for adobe flash using a detectfile
Is there a file to detect the built-in Flash if you use Chrome only?
-
the point of flash player more is to remove settings.sol else just use in ccleaner's built adobe flash check, or exclude the file in your own (I actually remove the entry completely )
Sorry, but you are wrong. The current entry clears the AssetCache and the FlashInstall.log only.
[Adobe Flash Player More*] LangSecRef=3023 Detect=HKCU\Software\Macromedia\FlashPlayer Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player\AssetCache|*.*|RECURSE FileKey2=%WinDir%\System32\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log FileKey3=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log
And I don't think that anybody really wants to delete the settings of a program.
that and the handful of others are used to detect chrome, you need them all
You are right, thanks! Here are all detect lines:
Detect2=HKCU\Software\Chromium DetectFile1=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile2=%ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile3=%localappdata%\Flock\Application\flock.exe DetectFile4=%ProgramFiles%\Flock\Application\flock.exe DetectFile5=%localappdata%\Google\Chrome SxS\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile6=%ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome SxS\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile7=%localappdata%\SRWare Iron\iron.exe DetectFile8=%ProgramFiles%\SRWare Iron\iron.exe DetectFile9=%ProgramFiles%\Chromium\chrome.exe DetectFile10=%localappdata%\Chromium\chrome.exe DetectFile11=%ProgramFiles%\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile12=%localappdata%\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe DetectFile13=%AppData%\ChromePlus\chrome.exe DetectFile14=%localappdata%\RockMelt\Application\rockmelt.exe DetectFile15=%ProgramFiles%\RockMelt\Application\rockmelt.exe DetectFile16=%LocalAppData%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe DetectFile17=%ProgramFiles%\Comodo\Dragon\dragon.exe
-
Detect2=HKCU\Software\Chromium
Doesn't detect Chrome...
Sorry, I don't know why. This detect line is used by all Chrome entries.
-
If you add this line to the entry [Adobe Flash Player More*]:
%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE
You have to add this line also:
ExcludeKey1=FILE|%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys|settings.sol
Otherwise all your settings are gone!
Example for modified entry:
[Adobe Flash Player More*] LangSecRef=3023 Detect1=HKCU\Software\Macromedia\FlashPlayer Detect2=HKCU\Software\Chromium Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\Adobe\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE FileKey2=%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE FileKey3=%WinDir%\System32\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log FileKey4=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log ExcludeKey1=FILE|%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys|settings.sol

I think I may have missed it. I'll remove it in the next version
Good, thank you for your reply.
-
Thanks for the update! But did you accidentally miss my post or is this entry still necessary?
This entry could be removed from winapp2.ini because CC includes it already.
[MS Office Temp Files*]

Great, thank you for your reply.

Thanks for your reply. It seems that the new version of CC ignores the UAC now. It doesn't make a difference if you select yes or no - CC starts with standard privileges only.
But if you start the command prompt with the windows option "run as administrator" and then execute the parameter /EXPORT everything works fine again. So we have to use "run as administrator" always now?
-
Thank you for the update. Above the entry [Windows Mail*] a blank line is missing.
-
Hello,
with the new version 3.19.1721 (Portable) the command line parameter /EXPORT doesn't work anymore. After the UAC nothing happens (Windows 7 x64).
Any idea?
Thanks and kind regards,
Michael

it's because they use .msp (Microsoft patch installer) for upgrades, less temp files, less update time, less likely to require computer restart, easier for self-installer network managers, easier for patch management software (domain or third. party). need I continue?
Right, for the update only file (AdbeRdrUpd1013.msp) this is ok. But also the full installer file (AdbeRdr1013_xx_XX.exe) refuses the update even though it includes all the necessary files - and that is ridiculous.
-
Cleaning the Adobe Reader Setup Files is not a good entry. By removing these files you also prevent installing updates as well as doing a repair installation.
I can confirm this behaviour for the latest update (10.1.3). It's ridiculous that also the full installer wants those files and refuses the installation without them. What was Adobe thinking?!
The installation of the prior update worked flawless, so this problem couldn't have been foreseen.

I'm back from my vacation. Thanks for the update. Following two suggestions are missed:
Please change the following entry, because RegKey2 and 3 are included in winapp.ini of CCleaner now:
[Windows Media Player (MediaGuide)*]
LangSecRef=3023
Detect=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer
Default=True
RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences|CurrentBackgroundScanFolder
RegKey2=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Services\MediaGuide|CachedIconPath
RegKey3=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Services\MediaGuide|CachedLargeLogoPath
I think you can remove the following entry, because RegKey and FileKey are included in winapp.ini of CCleaner (for Office 2003, 2007 and 2010):
[MS Office Temp Files*]
LangSecRef=3021
Detect=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office
Default=False
RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common|FontBmpCache
FileKey1=%AppData%\Microsoft\Office|*.tmp|RECURSE
And between the entries [Windows Log Files More*] and [Windows Mail*] is no blank line.

I'm not sure if all winapp2.ini users will agree, but following entries could possibly be changed or removed. Comments are welcome.
Remove - FileKey included in winsys.ini [Windows Log Files]:

Thanks for the new version!
-
It was not working for me on a Windows 7 64-bit system. It works fine on a 32-bit system.
Good to know, thanks. I thought CC64 checks and deletes both paths (with and without "Wow6432Node"). With this new knowledge we should check the other winapp2.ini entries which include "RegKey".

Can you tell us why, please? The "Apple Installer Cache" entry does not prevent updates or an uninstallation.
Thanks for your modified entries.
