You can reset Windows Security settings to its defaults by using the command listed here: Run Command Prompt as Administrator secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose

This program runs with Administrator rights ONLY. This way atleast you can find out if there is an issue with User's Administrator rights. BTW all the name brand registry cleaner programs like this one, Ace Utilities and Registry First Aid runs in Administrator mode.

This is really weird. You said you have a Windows 7 system...right? is it 32-bit or 64-bit? Create another user account with Administrator rights. and see if it solves the problem. I feel you are having a problem with User's Administrator rights.

I have tested this on a Windows 7 32-bit system. I have merged the registry entries listed here into Windows Registry. The merged data belongs to Avira Internet Security Suite, CA Internet Security Suite, DivX 8, Roxio Creator, Freemake Video Converter, CleanMyPC Registry Cleaner and Glary Utilities. All of these mentioned programs were NEVER installed on this system. Your registry cleaner was able to find only 1 error (highlighted one) from all the merged entries. I tried Auslogics Registry Cleaner and Ace Utilities Registry Cleaner, both the programs were able to detect all these errors. The data was merged into the sections where your registry cleaner claims that it scans to find errors. Since you are having a problem with Internet Connection. I suggest that go to Device Manager and uninstall the network adapter but, make sure NOT to check 'Delete the driver software for this device' (a snapshot is attached). After uninstalling the network adapter, scan for hardware changes and it'll reinstall the network adapter. There is no way that CCleaner's Registry Cleaner can harm Windows. Even by deleting all the Startup entries, there is no harm to Windows. CCleaner is a very safe program. I suggest that install Auslogics Registry Cleaner and run it.

There should be a way to remove the whole installation package. Becareful when you are modifying this entry. There is a folder 'Apps' in that location (%CommonAppData%\Skype\) that should stay there as Skype needs this folder and its contents. I think removing Skype installations files is safe as Skype has no option to Change/Repair.

I have iTunes on my system. I removed the files from the location (%CommonAppData%\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\) and sent to Recycle bin. I went to 'Programs and Features' option in Control Panel and tried repairing iTunes, I started getting Windows Installer error that: The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below. C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\iTunes 10.5.1.42\ I think we should not remove installations files for the programs have an option to Change/Repair in the Add/Remove section.

You took it wrong. I like the option the way all the sections are lined up. Internet Traces User Traces System Traces Application Traces I think Windows section from Applications in CCleaner should be listed under Windows tab with System. There should be another tab for all the supported browsers.

R-Wipe&Clean

I don't recommend Apple Installation Temp entry. I have tried R-Wipe&Clean (http://www.r-wipe.co..._Download.shtml). That program does wipe Prefetch data. I asked the developer that how safe is to wipe the Prefetch data since Superfetch service is running. They said there is no harm to remove Layout.ini file and .pf files from Prefetch directory.

You're right the problem is with the modified entries. The latest version of CCleaner has no support for RealPlayer 15.
