  1. I'm playing with Pale Moon 4 Portable, and after running it for a while all over the net, I ran CCleaner, but none of the cookies show up in the Cookie list. I do have Firefox fully installed and I cleaned it out before running Pale Moon. Is it because it's a portable that CCleaner can't see the Pale Moon cookies? (I'm running it from the folder in "Downloads", not from a USB stick.)
  2. I stumbled across this article today. It's really interesting to look back at how home computers have evolved since the original Windows 1.0 was available. I've actually worked on all of them except Windows ME and Vista. http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9196998/Visual_tour_25_years_of_Windows?taxonomyId=125&pageNumber=1
  3. Did you mean "cleaning process hangs"? Mine (v3.01.1327) doesn't "hang" during analyzing, it "hangs" during cleaning, for instance like on the example below on the Firefox internet cache, but that's because of the size of the cache that it is cleaning out, and I've also got mine set to DOD 3 pass. (I hope this helps.)
  4. I do it about every 6 months. It's just a personal preference. I like cleaning out all the "ghosts" and "boogers" that accumulate from various sites and installs that never really delete. I save all the files I've collected to CD or DVD, then run DBAN to completely wipe the drive before re-installing the OS. As far as "tweaks", I've got all of my tweaks and notes on one CD that goes in right after the driver disc...so, re-tweaking to where I was before I started doesn't take long at all. (As a matter of fact, I'm here today because I just did a fresh re-install and need current versions of CCleaner and Speccy. ) Anyway, like I said, for me, it's a personal preference. Still...it never fails...every time I do this, it feels like I've got a brand new computer without actually buying one.
  5. Hello. I didn't see this one on the forum. I currently use CoreTemp because I can monitor the CPU temps in the system tray at any given time. Since Speccy monitors the temps as well, could there be a way to display them in the tray like CoreTemp? (Especially the HDD temp.) Something in the Options menu with on/off choices for each temp application that Speccy montors. Thanks for your time.
  6. I came to the CCleaner suggestions forum to promote an idea that CCleaner should create a default folder in the programs file for registry backups, and this thread looks like a good place for my suggestion. Usually when I do a fresh OS reinstall, it includes CCleaner. The first thing I do after installing CCleaner is go to C > Program Files > CCleaner, then I make a new sub-folder named Registry Backups. This way, when prompted to backup the registry, I select "Yes" and save it to this folder. I think the CCleaner folks should establish this idea as a default in the program. It works perfectly for me. They are organized, safely out of the way, and if actually needed they will be easy to find.
  7. Hello. I just installed Speccy v1.04.173...great little tool. But I noticed a problem with the main RAM page regarding the Memory Slots and though I'd post here to give the developers some feedback. (I read through all the posts here first to see if anyone else has noticed this, but didn't see anything about it.) I have Speccy v1.04.173 installed on 5 computers at home, each with a different mobo, all running XP Home SP3; -PCCHIPS A13G -PCCHIPS A15G -BIOSTAR MCP6P M2+ -ECS AM2N1K-M -GIGABYTE GA-M61PME-S2 All of the boards have only 2 DIMM slots. The first 4 boards in the list above show on the RAM page that they have 4 DIMM slots and incorrectly say; Total memory slots 4 Used memory slots 1 Free memory slots 3 (I have both slots filled on each board.) BUT, the Gigabyte is spot on! Total memory slots 2 Used memory slots 2 Free memory slots 0 Is this a bug, or could if be that the budget boards I have just don't play well with Speccy?
