I just ran the compress registry part of jv16 powertools and it created the following files. Can I suggest the winapp2 entry for all of the jv16 versions also check for these and similar named files in the other folders?
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\NTUSER.DAT.tmp
C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\NTUSER.DAT.tmp

Winapp2.ini:
Is http://winapp2.com/Winapp2.ini accessiable by FTP and if so what is the address please?
-
I was wondering the same.
Because if you use firefox, you can use forcastfox. If your using Windows 7, you can use Windows 7 built in Weather gadget instead.
Additionally, why do you need Google Toolbar? Can't you just search Google from your default browser? Most newer browsers include pop-up blocking as well.
Roboform? Firefox manages website logins, as does, I believe, most newer web browsers.
Wallpaper manager? Windows 7 includes the ability to highlight several wallpapers, right-click & set as desktop background, & you can select how often they rotate.
Seems quite a few unnecessary start-ups to me...
I currently use Windows XP Pro sp3 so a lot of your suggestions aren't available natively. Hence why I use a 3rd party wallpaper changer, desktop weather app, etc. I use Google Toolbar so it can show me related searches I like to be able to use hard to recall passwords so that is why I use Roboform.
Sicne I do plan to get a new computer by Christmas 2012 - it will be either Windows 7 or maybe 8. The wallpaper changer I use now makes a list of custom image files that are wanted to rotate on a user-selected basis. How exactly does the wallpaper changer in Win 7 work? Screen shots of someone using it would be greatly appreciated!
I cannot believe anyone wants to start ctfmon
It took me a lot of effort to track down and fix all the things that caused it to spring into life.
So far as I was concerned the only thing it achieved was to intercept a computer shut-down with a lockup.
TO ANSWER YOUR SPECIFIC QUESTION :-
YES
It is easy - you launch CCleaner with the arguments /AUTO /SHUTDOWN.
This will clean all junk and then shut-down the computer (ctfmon permitting)
This should leave your computer squeaky clean ready for the next time you Boot up.
What exactly does Clfmon do - or supposed to do? And it starts automatically as part of windows -
The simple easy fix is Ctfmon Remover (freeware), it replaces it with a dummy file that completely disables that p.o.s. exe file.
I may use it - have to do some investigating first....
-
Can I ask why you have all these running at startup?
Because I want them to all automatically start.
-
I have things like Yahoo Messenger and other programs opening on boot so I'd like to know if there is a way to get CCleaner to run before those programs run? Attached I have my startup.txt items.

Where do I get "Trim-12.bat" from and I am trying to find out a good Detect= line instead of the DetectFile= one.
-
This should work better. and if you recall I said I wasn't sure what the local application data should be so it matches all OS possibilities. So there is no need to get after me either.

Seems to have something with the Scans folder - not localcopy....?
-
Yes they are in tab format but if you do "Save as text" under all 3 tabs - the default name is startup.txt - hence my suggestion. Try it yourself pcunite....
-
Be great if the default "Save to" name was different for all three possibilities (Windows, Internet Explorer, Scheduled Tasks). Maybe like Windows.txt, IntrExpl.txt and SchTasks.txt - all three names are of the 8.3 form....
Thanks in advance

What entries remove the Stats for window games like Freecell and I think a good suggestion would be to add aWarning= line to the entry-entries involved.

I am not familar with incredimail but most email programs provide a way to purge /empty such files. Does Incredimail provide that way?
-
Are you still having problems using CCleaner? Have you tried a more recent version?
-
It seems to work for me. Server passwords and the window Live enteries. think that would do what you want?

Software Distribution logs probably wont be added to the official binaries.

- Note, I only found this folder in the v4.0.30319 folder, not any of the others.
Other profiles have been requested, but probably will not be added. There is some documentation on this pinned in the CCleaner General forum.
You said it was doc'ed elsewhere - might be nice to have a direct link.
Also would it be possible fo0r someone to keep up a new file (similar to winapp2.ini) for enteries posted in the forums but that don't make it to the official binaries? It would save someone from having to seartch the forums, thereby haveing the forums run easier and the clients computer run meaner and cleaner?

I use WLMessenger and the current version of CCleaner removes both the accounts and password for the program. What can be done about this? I am not sure if it's Server Passwords or one of the WL* enteries.

For the yahoo messenger entires - there will be more than one.....
Change the detectfile= to
detect=HKCU\Software\Yahoo\pager
Will slightly increase the speed of reading the winapp2.ini file....

For: [MySpaceIM Dump Files*] and [MySpaceIM Images*] change the LangSecref to 3022 since [MySpaceIM] has LangSecRef=3022
