?Torrent is a really nice program but it doesn't support G1 or G2. although i like BitTorrent more.

does it have issues with listviews? a lot of skins that are dark do.

I've run Windows Defender and it detected one item - iMesh, which it described as being of medium risk.
Should I be concerned, and what action should I take?
get rid of it. both M$ Defender and wikipedia classify iMesh as adware. if you want a good G1 or G2 client, then get Shareaza

I could have sworn shell32.dll for WinXP SP2 was updated just a couple of days ago via one of the Automatic Updates, however I don't know for sure because I didn't track the installations.
i used M$ Update on tuesday and i could tell that it replaced my shell32.dll because the one i had was edited with Vista icons. now i guess i have to do it again

the current version needs you to specify where to extract the installation files. i personally put em at C:\bulls**t . then you have to run dxsetup.exe for it to install. after that, you have to uninstall the files to save HD space. that's the cleanup that he's talking about.
but as for an SFX archive, i think that M$ will do it in the final version or something.

all the newer builds just introduce libraries for use with .NET languages. nothing more. it doesn't affect games built with C++ or any other non-.NET-based language. perhaps the reason why it's still called 9.0c

That's why after I download DX I always unpack it, and then re-pack it using an SFX module, either ZIP or RAR.

if you did the quick scan, then it must have been quick. but i did the full scan which sucked. it took about 2 hours to scan, a few mins to remove the registry entries, and then 3 or 4 hours to defrag. and at the end, it got stuck at 95%. i do not recommend it.

i've heard rumors about the PS3 which limits the ammount of time you can play a game.

since i got tired of my previous skin, i went back to Luna Element but this time, i'm using the compact version since i like slim toolbars/windows.
i recently found out some neat tricks with AveDesk. i also added more program to ObjectDock and a lot of other stuff.

If I had listened to Dimmu Borgir's current material 2001 release and above ten years ago I wouldn't have like them one bit! The synthesizer issue does pop up, however it's mostly death metal bands that won't use them, whereas black metal is more melodic thus it has a niche with those type of bands. Dimmu Borgir is melodic which is what caught my attention when listening to their 2001 release 'Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia'. Although the 2003 release 'Death Cult Armageddon' is what I'd called average and I rarely listen to it. I like melodic death/black metal versus outright brutality, well I mostly like melodic black metal as I'm sort of bored with allot of death metal that's available. I do however wish allot of bands were much heavier with deeper bass, etc.
well, acording to Wikipedia, Dimmu Borgir = Symphonic Black Metal. the synthysizer thing that i mentioned is the use of classical music elements in Symphonic death metal.
but as for their stuff, i've only listened to their old songs such as songs on Stormblast and Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia. and just by listening to a few songs from those albums, i decided that i didn't like the band. i also saw a music video on Yahoo! Music which kinda sucked too.

I liked some of their older stuff, however in my mind they don't compare to Dimmu Borgir and Candlemass.
how can you like Dimmu Borgir. i heard a few of their songs a few days ago and they all seemed like crap to me. i think it's because they use too much synthisizers or w/e the hell they use.
but anyways their new album is pretty good acually. it's the hardest thing i've heard lately. also i've recently started to like Behemoth. very good band

there's a way that you can cheat nero into burning it if you install a demo. if you use foobar2000, you can get the foo_burninate plugin and dl a demo version of Nero 7. after it expires, you can still write to a CD. i tried it a few days ago and it burned an audio cd in less than a min.

i've tried both eTrust and Avast. both of em use around the same memory usage. but AVG uses the least ammount.

AVG Free for me too. i've tried both eZ-AV and Avast but both of them use up way too much resources. AVG however, uses up less memory, and it also has nice Virus detection(it's detected something while my dad was using IE and immediatly deleted it).

i've already answered your second question. you need to make your own skin which changes the icon. a lot of skins such as LunaElement have custom start buttons.
