    Smileys

Thanx all but still lost on at least a few . . . & where would I find the one's you've added that aren't in the list we have to choose from? They're cute!!
  2. Thanx Dennis, got it done. Is there any type of ' give points for best answer' or 'mark as solved' in this forum? Haven't noticed any but I tend to 'be blind in one eye & can't see out of the other'

    Smileys

I tried to copy/paste my question about this from an earlier post but couldn't complete the operation sooo, in my post at The Lounge, titled Am I getting senile?, post #4, 4/15/12, am repeating here: How does one know just what the Smiley means? I'd hate to insert one thinking that it's just a type of a 'happy smile', then find out that it really meant 'smart@$$" or something similar. Sorry to be a pest like this but I really don't know. Oh, and I promise that I won't overload my posts with them. Thanx, grits
  4. I'm quite sure that I'm reading it right but need to verify lest I create myself a new problem. I want to change my email address but NOT my password. I assume I'm safe by just leaving the password box empty?
  5. What's puzzling is that FastStone works perfect for all other captures, all the stills. Guess I'm gonna have to learn how to use Paint. I assume it captures scrolling window?
  6. Wow, I came here about an hour ago to post but ended up reading kroozer's 'test', then several links from it & am now on 'overload' . Sooo, yes, somehow I managed to figure out how to reduce the size of my shots using FastStoneCapture v 5.3 which I love 'cuz it's simple for someone that's 'simple minded' . I have however discovered a problem with it but don't know if it's due to Windows 7 or what? It worked fine all the while I had XP. Have been on Windows 7 since mid February. The problem is that it won't capture Scrolling Screen. Are there any users of FSC 5.3 out there using W7 that can help me?? Thank you, grits
  7. I use the old version (5.3) of FastStone Capture for my screenshots & just recently compared size of identical shot & found that png was 34KB while jpeg was 76KB.
  8. I wish I could say that I've solved but most if those posts were over my head, sorry, you're dealing with someone that isn't 'puter savvy. The only thing that rang a bell was that I did install Office ?something? recently just so I could view/open a Word doc. Sooo . . . . should I assume that when CCleaner made it's backup when I ran it that it couldn't open the Office part so hence the Events Viewer Warning? and that I shouldn't be concerned? Thanks again, grits
  9. I was looking for some sort of help 'cuz when I posted my earlier one concerning Event Viewer, I clicked on 'Preview' to make sure it was correct but then couldn't get back to it to click 'Post' so had to start over. Anyway . . . . I read something that's 'pinned' about posting images & read something about a 'limit on posting images' but can't find what the limit is. Or on the other hand, I was blonde before all the gray showed up & may have mis-understood what I read? I have to upload images quite often to get my point across. So . . . is there a limit? Thanx.
  10. Is this anything I should be concerned about? Found it in Event Viewer after I ran the Cleaner.

    What to check?

    WOW, quick reply! Thank you!

    What to check?

I did a 'copy/paste' of the below from FAQ just for clarification. Does that mean the default items to put a check mark on for the scan? The reason I ask is that I think I may have done some changing of check marks at sometime or another & would like to know what CCleaner recommends as default. How can I restore the CCleaner entries to their default states? Right click on the header (Applications, Multimedia, etc) and click "Restore default state" Sorry about such a dumb question. Thank you.
  13. Is that why I can't change my time zone to show DST ineffect?
  14. Sometimes the amount removed is larger than the analysis, why? Just a bit ago the analysis was 1.11MB but it removed 3.86MB.

    Temps in Speccy

Thanks hazelnut, I'm really having a doozy of a time trying to figure out this board. Sorry,
  18. Sorry, guess I'm dumber than I thought. What is Piri?
  19. Thanx kroozer, but can you please help me with the problems about 'Smileys' , 'Time' , & why I can't do attachment? oops the smiley worked this time. I wish all the smileys had a word to describe them, I'm not sure what some of them mean.

    Temps in Speccy

I don't have the foggiest idea about PC temps, don't know if mine is ok, don't know how to understand C. vs. F. Will try to attach a shot of mine. Thanks. nope, couldn't get that done either ( see my post in The Lounge a few minutes ago )
  21. Has this board changed since I joined about 3 yrs ago or is it just my CRS? I've had a doozy of a time trying to find where I should be/how to use the board. Just now I tried to put in a 'smiley' but couldn't, my Post Options are enabled, what am I doing wrong? I am a senior citizen but belong to several forums & don't think I generally have too much trouble elsewhere. Thanks. Now, according to my clock it's now 1:13pm but this post shows as 11:48am when it was actually 12:48pm & I just posted in 'Software' where it also shows incorrect time. I tried to tick 'DST' in my settings but it won't go.
  22. should i create a system restore point before running CCleaner? i have a real wide yellow streak down my back
  23. I've read the beginners guide & just about every post in the forum ( which was a mistake cuz now I'm overloaded ). I'm sure I should run CCleaner cuz my puter is sooooo slow it's driving me buggy but still unsure of cookies for one thing. As long as I always sign in to forums with user name & password, I don't have to worry about saving any cookies associated with that forum.........is that correct? And I saw something about "protecting flash cookies" but don't know what that means. Thanks.
