    Side note - - - from versions d/l page there:

    http://ccleaner.com/downloadbuilds.asp

    Only full 128 version downloads now .. the first one..

    If click on other 2:

    CCleaner v1.28.277 - Basic

    and

    CCleaner v1.28.277 - Slim ...

    in both cases - 127 file(s) is given...

    Maybe MrG .. didn't update / uplink 128 file(s) there yet..

    But in any case - those 2 mentioned above - have to be updated with 128 as i speak ;)

    Thanks

  2. Finally I installed it anyway ignoring AntiVir message as I was certain it was a false positive.

    Regards.

    OK.. but i do NOT think that it should be any AntiVir message.. in the latest Release version of CC...

    Wasn't for me anyhow.. (just in the 1st beta i think)

  3. He already did.

    CCleaner v1.27.260 - Basic

    I downloaded all 3 files.. fer my collection :P

    I downloaded all 3 files.. fer my collection :P

    They are all here:

    Hello to all. I just want to ask why Antivir v.7 reports that CCleaner has "SPR/KILLPROG.DLL program signature" ... is it a virus or a false positive?

    Regards.

    it WAS false positive.. .. but i am pretty SURE it had been fixed / updated now...

    In any case .. i am running AntiVir 7.0 as well.. and installed newest CCleaner 1.27 .. and NO false positive thingy came up.. (but it was fixed already in the previous Beta version)

  4. [AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic]

    LangSecRef=3024

    DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\AVPersonal\AVGUARD.exe

    Default=True

    FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\AVPersonal\AVTEST|*.*

    FileKey2=%ProgramFiles%\AVPersonal\FAILSAVE|*.*

    FileKey3=%ProgramFiles%\AVPersonal\INFECTED|*.*

    FileKey4=%ProgramFiles%\AVPersonal\LOGFILES|*.*

    FileKey5=%ProgramFiles%\AVPersonal\SYSSAVE|*.*

    FileKey6=%ProgramFiles%\AVPersonal\TEMP|*.*

    FileKey7=%ProgramFiles%\AVPersonal\TESTPATH|*.*

    FileKey8=%ProgramFiles%\AVPersonal\UPDATE|*.*

    ------

    Oh .. I see.. unless i want to keep some of those of course ;)

  5. One would need to reinstall newest CC though .. to check..

    Cuz it was only upon the Installation (possible virus warning)

    I figured it was "false" in any case...

    I ll check for you... Soon... (just downloading the newest definitions now) ;)

    -

    Got 'em..

    Will go check now :)

    ...

    Hehe - just checked .. - No more "Possible Virus Warning" any longer! (Upon Installation) :D:P

  6. Yahoo Toolbar.. lol ..

    Do not like those..

    Didn't pay attention and let it install..

    Had to uninstall after.. .. and just reinstalled again (just to check) .. without Toolbar checked...

    Didn't get installed (after i unchecked it) :)

    Also .. what is this all about.. i guess it's OK .. but didn't happen in the past..

    I am running newest AntiVir now .. for Windows ME.. - v. 7.0 .. with newest (today's update)

    on the CC install(s) .. both times i got this at the end from Antivir:

    "A virus or unwanted program was found!

    What should happen with the file?

    C:\Windows\TEMP\...\KILLPROCDLL.DLL

    The file was blocked according to the default settings

    Is the Trojan horse TR/Drop.Purity.BU.1

    and Options:

    Repair

    Move to quarantine

    Delete

    Rename

    Don't take further actions"

    Not a biggie of course.. But NEVER happened in the past (was running AntiVir 6.0 though i think) .. SO figured to let you know..

    Any comments .. Thanks

    Whatever AntiVir did or found - CC is running OK though.. after i pressed "Finish" button (at the end of CC install) ..and clicked on CC icon after.. build .255 of CC fired up no Problem :)

  7. I am using AntiVir.. but still on version 6..

    Even though 7 is supposed to be out.. i hear / read at their forum that there are many bugs in 7.. and possibly it's Not final yet...

    So i don't know...

    I posted a thread their currently asking some questions about the matter...

    But you can look through other threads there at their forum.. to see all the problems and bugs..

    Here is an address to their (New by the way) forum.. with my thread :)

    I installed that 7.0 .. AntiVir..

    Working OK for me.. Seems like anyhow..

    Then - lol - ya.. Cleaning New AntiVir 7.0 .. - in 1.27 Release of CC .. (or future version(s)) - Would be Nice ;)

    Thanks

  9. I also use antivir.  I like it.

    bpm3k - why do you like .. and use this particular one?

    What made you stop at this antiVir? ;)

    And also - that site: http://www.av-comparatives.org/ .. they got those reports there .. some tests that they did.. using all those Anti-Virus programs...

    What do you think of those tests?

    Or what do those tests mean? ( i am not too experienced with those)

    And by the way.. our AntiVir (aka HBEDV or something like that) - even though among those programs tested, is not the top one (after those tests were performed)...

    Any comments about that?

    Also i see in those reports there - some NOD32 ( http://www.nod32.com/home/home.htm ) ..and some BitDefender ( http://www.bitdefender.com ) are among the highest rated..

    (read somewhere also... one of those 2, i think Nod 32 .. was the fastest when scanning.. or something like that)

    Any comments about those 2? (or anyone else...)

  10. bpm3k, Glad to see you using it too (glad to see i am not the only one - hehe)

    Plus you seem like an experienced user with all these programs etc.. - so that is a positive news (for me anyhow).. that someone like you uses it also :)

    In any case i like it..

    Gotto go to work now.. so not much time, but.. - thanks for all the links abovem - a-squared Free ( and Personal there too), antiVir's beta page with Incrimental thingy.. , antivir's English forum.. etc...

    I book marked them...

    BTW - at antivir forum there (German one .. where english support too).. this dude that helped me.. told me that in September or October or so.. new version of AntiVir is coming (if i understood him correctly).. - with automatic internet update.. where much smaller definition file will be needed etc etc..

    Will keep eyes open for it anyhow ;)

  11. When I used to use AntiVir it was when they had an English forum and a good forum it was, however when they suspended their English forum and only had a German forum I stopped using it since their forum was the only form of support for the free home edition. There's another antivirus product that looks just like AntiVir however it isn't free with the same GUI, etc., so perhaps they share technologies with another vendor, sorry I don't remember the name of it.

    They have English sections there.. and English support currently..

    I visit there nowadays..

    And even dude helped me get rid of virus there.. and recommended to come here to CCleaner place.. among other places :P

    He uses CCleaner also btw :)

    their forum is here:

    http://www.free-av.de/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi

  12. OK thank's

    AntiVir didn't find false ones for me yet.. (but i do not make batch files though) :)

    However i recall, vaguely.. asking the dude at their Forum ..about something like.. - if say it finds something that is not a virus...

    He replied, i think.. that the file can be submitted to them.. to their submission link there.. and they will look at it.. and if not a virus.. one can exclude (?) or return it back to original shape.. (if choose "move to dir" option instead of "delete")

    Or something like that...

  13. Here are the security programs I use.

    MS antispy (Real time scanner disabled)

    Ad-aware

    Spybot

    Ewido

    Zone Alarm

    Etrust EZ Antivirus

    Spyware Blaster

    I have cleaned and kept clean my pcs with these programs and it dosent take loads of time to keep up. Anyway the best way to make sure your pc stays clean is to stay off of questionable sites, do not download crap software, and use an alternate browser.

    Ya.. my PC is clean now also.. and to top it off i run this CCleaner somewhat couple times per week :)

    And i use most of what you use there...

    and Yes.. that Ewido supposed to be good also.. But i think it's also NOT for my Windows ME, isn't it?

    (i am pretty sure .. i think i asked them confirmation..and they replied to me that it was NOT...)

    If it was Ewido i was enquiring about.. i think so.. but can't recall now 100 %

    Oh ya.. and that Free version of Firewall that was mentioned in Freeware thread here.. is Sygate Personal Firewall i think.. (never tried it neither yet).. Any comments about it?

  14. I don't think there is any better anti-spyware scanner than MS antispyware 1.0 beta.  I would recomend this especially since every other scanner that offers real-time protection you must pay for.  This I think is a must have.

    Thanks for you comments (i read all of them)

    But this MS antispyware 1.0 is not for me currently .. (as i am using Windows ME still .. hehe - and not XP) :)

    as to Antivirus ..and my need to purchase one.. - you misunderstood me.. lol - i actually do NOT like to purchase anything...

    But for antivirus.. - Yes Kaspersky is surely good..

    But i wasn't using one at all until recently.. but now i realize it's a MUST nowadays.. and currently after trying 3 great FREE ones (AVG, Avast! and german AntiVir) - i am using that german FREE AntiVir personal version currently .. settled down on it for now..

    I like it's simlicity..and the way it operates.. over more fancier (looking anyhow) AVG and Avast (even though they are great also)..

    But as i think, someone mentioned in a Freeware thread here.. - that AntiVir is excelent ..and not too fancy looking one (i do not like too fancy ones actually - simplicity is good) .. and does a great job..and the design of it, internet upgrade etc.. - just suit my needs...

    and the dude at their German Forum there (home site's forum) told me that they will have a new version 7 soon (September October maybe).. somewhat fancier i guess.. with Automatic Internet Updating etc.. (even though i do not mind the way it's currently - where i just click on Start Internet Update Button.. and it goes and does the rest) :)

    I like it anyhow....

  15. Oh Thanks..

    But i already know where to get all those..

    Wanted just to hear other people's opinion(s) before i decide to install any of those .. hehe :)

    But who knows.. maybe now i won't even bother (at your suggestion above kinda) ;)

    Maybe Outpost Firewall though.. someday soon...
