What makes me think i may have a keylogger on my PC?
I would type the name of a person,or subject, into Google and then I would receive an email that came from someone with the same name.
That is weak evidence for a keylogger.
Whatever you type into Google is sent along with your IP address and comprehensive browser and computer information to whatever link you click on,
and all this information travels, possibly via unsecured http protocol through your ISP,
and may also be broadcast to your neighbours via the Wireless capability of your B.T. Router.
I have also read that a router can be hacked via the Internet, but I do not remember the capabilities.

Welcome to the forum.
By successfully defragging System Volume Information you may now expect to save a fraction of a second should you ever need to use System Restore.
There may be other benefits that I am not aware of.
There is an option to exclude System Volume Information from defragging.

Determine whether the other computer can still access the drive contents.
Your problem could just be a defect in the SATA / USB interface,
or that Window Computers do not like drives used by Apple Computers

The shown file name In the Status section was Outlook.pst ... but this file was not in the list of files to be defragged (Tab File list)
So what - just because it does not need defragging does NOT prevent it being read from one region and written to another region of the disk.
If you want a definitive answer from a developer you may need to pay the license fee for the PRO support.

Click on the TAB marked "Drive Map"
You will see different colours that can be applied to any square.
On my system YELLOW denotes a block being read, and GREEN denotes a block being written.
Obviously defragging involves reading data from one sector cluster and writing it to another.
Even if a file is fully defragged and in contiguous sectors,
it may have to be read from one block (YELLOW) and written to another block (GREEN) as part of a full defrag of everything.
There is no reason to exclude the names of contiguous files that are being shunted around,
especially since there may be a temporary gap in the sequence when the first chunk is moved to a new position and the next chunk is waiting to join it again.

Is it possible that after the lost files were deleted some user initiated or scheduled or Microsoft initiated de-fragmentation simply relocated some old files into the free space created by losing those files.
Only old date stamp does not mean the file has not been moved since it was created.

Did it really do a 35-pass complex overwrite? Because from just looks of it, my drive was filled once and then the program ended (which would be a single pass).
I have read in a forum post that a Free Space Wipe is only single pass.
I really truly believed that post so it must have been a moderator that wrote it

Something is wrong if you have a partition named System - but this could be one of the problems you get with a HP computer
Windows Disk Management should show you a partition named "System Reserved"
with a status of "Healthy (System,Active,Primary Partition)",
and for safety it should have no drive letter assigned to it - in which case Defraggler will not see it or touch it.
On my computer "System Reserved" is 100 MB.

HashMyFiles from Nirsoft allows you to drag-drop a folder and it reports all the hash checksums you require for each and every file within the folder.
It may explore all sub-directory levels - I have not tried.
It is portable
It will not by itself predict whether your unspecified program will deem a file to be corrupted,
but it will instantly compare the files in a flash drive with files held on a HDD,
and you can save results to a text file and at a later date you can run it and create a new text file,
and then compare the two text files to observe whether changes have occurred.

I observed that the last digit determined the play point.
e..g. on a 6 minute duration video
1 started at 10% = 36 Seconds
5 started at 50% = 3 minutes.
I am using Palemoon.
Perhaps different browsers send different data to YouTube,
or perhaps YouTube do different things depending upon Location and other browser header data

I recommend Palemoon
It is based on the same engine as Firefox, and most Firefox extensions are compatible.
It is far safer then Firefox because it is not on erratic rabid release.
and the GUI is more stable - no surprises with each update.
Current version 20.3 has incorporated all the security fixes that are claimed for the latest released Firefox.
There is a portable version with reduced cache size.
You can try that without impacting your existing Firefox setup.
Perhaps you could use Portable Palemoon on a Flash Drive which is only plugged in for your financial transactions,
but I suspect Flash Cookies might be held on C:\???

I am looking for a portable external USB3 1 TB HDD,
and would be happy with one that used an extension lead that had full sized "A-Type" connectors at both ends.
I am concerned about the robustness of the mechanical attachment of the drive to its USB3 connector.
So far the majority that I have seen on-line do not specify the type,
and the only exception is one that says the extension lead is Type-A to Type-B.
I have only just started looking with no success, and do not wish to waste the rest of the month looking around.
Do the smaller 2.5" drives always come in slim enclosures that only accommodate miniature connectors ?

Files may well be corrupted if you put the HDD into your pocket and forget to remove it before going through a M.R.I. exam at the hospital.
Otherwise I think the only problem with removing the HDD from the computer is that it is more likely to be knocked off a desk and damaged.
