I use the CCleaner regularly, on several computers, XP Home sp1, XP Home sp2 and Pro sp2 (mutible) and I remove everything it finds in the Issues section, including all file extensions. I have no experiance with Vista but I wouldn't hesitate to try the same because the backup can be reinstalled. I've never had a problem.

My experiance with CCleaner is that it wont always delete damaged files or infected files. Run the CCleaner, delete them and then go to temporary internet folder and check to see if they are actually gone. If not delete them manually. Another posability is that they have been added to the "Keep" list. Options- cookies.

Sorry but I have to take exception with you on this. UAC is for people that don't know how to use and protect their computer, if the did they wouldn't have security problems. I think that constantly running into "Administrative privilege" is an unnecessary frustration and a definite short comming of Linux and others that are "better protected".

When CCleaner is run from the UBCD4Win boot CD it searches only the "B" (RAM) drive. Can this be redirected to "C" drive or other drives?

My experiance is that you have to run CCleaner from the account that you want to clean, "Administrator". CCleaner sometimes wont clean out infected files or maybe it's damaged files (by an infection?). These sometimes have to be cleaned out manually. It is ok to delete anything in temp & temp int folders that you dont want. Its ok to delete the folders themselves as Windows will recreate them if/when needed. You cant delete what Windows is using so it may help to go to Administrator to finish.
