Nice app, does anyone know of a list of known junk which i can put in G-Lock to remove more rubbish. And can someone please tell me why oh why CCleaner does not get a junk scanner. There could be a junk.ini file which you put known junk file extensions in and it will remove them. That and more advanced registry cleaning would make this already brill app beyond brill maybe god like?

Check the below link out its basically a windows update type site but you can use it with firefox, its obviously unofficial and you use it at your own risk but it seems ok to me. I should not think it will last long Micro$oft will properly have it closed for some reason they just made up

Does anyone know of a free preferably open source app the scans your pc for extensions which you specifier i.e. known junk files(as it seems this feature is not coming to CCleaner

Englishmen, you could probably force the program to close using EndItAll, you would have to select the program in the list that appears, then click Actions, then click Close Program, if that does not work then you can force it to close by selecting Kill Program instead of Close Program.

I run Cleaner when ever I remember to, which is about all the time I think they should make it so the files it removes just cant be created in the first place. Problem solved

There is a app called Dustbuster which apparently cleans "1500 different types of useless temp files and directories in a single click" but it does not tell you exactly what these files are nor does it tell you what it has removed. You simply run it then once finished it tells you how many files and what size the files it removed were. Some people stay away but I have had it for a while and as far as I can see or my personal files are still there and everything works. Give it a try but create a system restore point first
.P.S. I am in no way, form or point of view responsible if you pc goes puff.

That's exactly what I wanted to to Tarun. Do you think it may have a affect if a I buy 1Gb of memory but at a faster clock speed? So i would then have 3 512Mb sticks and one 1Gb stick but at a faster clock speed.

First of I am in now way whatsoever criticizing CCleaner, but it does seem a bit odd that it removes files etc to protect your privacy but yet they are only deleted in the normal way. Which means the files are recoverable. It would be better if had the option of deleting files with methods to those found in eraser.

By typing in only the directory name, I simply removed the .exe file from the URL you provided to see what was in the directory.
The only reason you can see the directory listing is because that's the way the site is designed, not all websites work that way and actively hide directory contents. If there had been an index.htm or index.html file it wouldn't have worked.
If the flash update won't work it can only mean that the upgrade is not for your particular drive, e.g.; the wrong firmware won't work with the wrong drive it's to insure you don't destroy your drive.

I currently have 2Gb of ram in 4 512Mb sticks but am thinking of getting faster memory i.e. the actual speed the memory runs, but as I already have 2gb of ram will I actualy see a performance increase? Thanks in advanced.

1. Goto the site directory containing the file here:

2. Then right click the file and save as, worked for me.
Thanks Andavari how do you get it so you can see a site in the directory mode.
Also the flash button is not accessible(see screenshot)and it does not list and disc drives in the drop down box. One more thing does anyone know of any app that will tell me the name of the manufacturer of my disc drive and serial etc?

Can someone please tell why when I put the code in for one of those CCleaner(or any sig)sigs all that shows up is the code and not the actual sig. I uploaded my Liverpool(Yaaaaaaaaaa we won the champions league) image to imageshack and pasted the code and it works but no other sig, why oh why.
