  1. Basically, upon looking at the Anti-Malware Pro package, I saw a nu,ber of programs I didn't have, and became interested. I phoned up my PC Shop, who are very good at what they know, and I asked about Anti-Spyware/Cleaning Programs. They only use SpywareBlaster and Spybot - Search and Destroy. They said you don't need CCleaner nor TuneUp, which I kinda disagree with, and they said that CCleaner and TuneUp are dangerous in their reg cleaners.

Anti-Spyware wise, they don't like CWShredder, they said it can cause damage, haven't heard of About:Blaster or Ewido, and say that Ad-Aware is fine but it isn't as good as Spybot.

They agree with my anti-virus and firewall.

Your opinions? I use this list: http://www.lunarsoft.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=311&st=0

  2. What do people think of it? Got it, seems quite good, have you lot tried it before?

EDIT: Just got rid of it, didn't seem that good after all, though feel free to discuss please.

  3. Is it worth me getting Arovax Shield? I have only got a 512 kbps connection, and I use IE 6 as my browser, and this is my current security set:

I don't want it slowing down my system or my surfing speed, and ZA Pro does tell give me lots of security notices e.c.t, and is a good anti-spyware:

  4. UP, I have tuneup 2006 and i also love it. it works great, well worth the cost, easy to use, and its one of those "i wouldnt do without" paid programs.

    some people are just sour.

    Indeed, great program.

  5. So, anyone else got TuneUp?

I think its missing the following:

A Reg Compacter for the startup of your PC. I use RegCompact for that; http://experimentalscene.com/download.php?view.1

A better Disk Cleaner - I use CCleaner as well (though admitedly TuneUp does find things that CCleaner doesn't).

Better System Information provider. I use Everest ;http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181

Apparently Registry Mechanic is better than TuneUp's registry cleane,r though I'm yet to test that.

    Pro's:

Everything else! Its all brilliant, just look at the stuff below:

  6. Yeah, but you provide no link.

Also what makes you think that it is the best?

I tested it agains the programs that I had before (which many people agree with me on this forum of thinking they are pretty good), and TuneUp Utilities came up better:

Any software that includes the year in its name sounds like a marketing backed thing. I bet it have a shiny glimmering user interface with fancy buttons?

It costs money indeed, but its worth it. It des have a good interface, you can make your own mind up, no worse/better interface than things like Ad-Aware or Ewido.

Oh yeh, someone ought to set a limit on amount of lines/text in the signature...

    Why? It works fine....

  7. I've just got it from a friend, and I must say I'm very impressed. Its got the best Registry Cleaner I have seen, allowing me to get rid of Registry First Aid, the best Internet Optimization, allowing me to get rid of PC Pitstop, and a really good Styler, allowing me to get rid of Logon Loader. Its brilliant.

  8. Try it yourself, this is what I got:

You scored as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Roguish,quick-witted, and incredibly lucky, Jack Sparrow is a pirate who sometimes ends up being a hero, against his better judgement. Captain Jack looks out for #1, but he can be counted on (usually) to do the right thing. He has an incredibly persuasive tongue, a mind that borders on genius or insanity, and an incredible talent for getting into trouble and getting out of it. Maybe its brains, maybe its genius, or maybe its just plain luck. Or maybe a mixture of all three.

    Indiana Jones 71%

    Captain Jack Sparrow 71%

    Lara Croft 58%

    Neo, the "One" 58%

    Maximus 58%

    El Zorro 54%

    Batman, the Dark Knight 54%

    James Bond, Agent 007 50%

    The Amazing Spider-Man 42%

    William Wallace 38%

    The Terminator 25%

  9. I'm currently back to IE, until this problem is sorted out. I have to admit, I haven't noticed that much of a speed difference since uninstalling Firefox, the only annoying problem is the tabbed browsing, but then again I can now view any page on the net, whilst with FF I was finding pages that wouldn't load properly or wouldn't display certain things.
