Drummer17
Hello, I try to recover files from an external hard disk (NTFS, 1.5 TB) using Recuva. The search process (using deep scan) lasts very long an d at the end I do not get a result but a message, that there is not enough memory. What can I do to obtain a result? Moderators Augeas Posted September 22, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 22, 2011 How much memory do you have? I can only suggest the obvious: close all other applications so that memory use is minimal and try again. You could disconnect from the internet and close your a/v as well. Scanning a 1.5 tb disk will take a very long time, and presumably a lot of memory to manipulate Recuva's temp file. if you have progressed to stage 2 you can cancel it with no ill effect that I can detect. This might save a few zillion bytes.
redhawk
Is there a reason why you're performing Deep Scan instead of performing a regular scan?? How did you lose your files i.e. deleted, vanished or corrupted partition table?? Richard S.
Drummer17
Hello, I am performing deep scan, because regular scan did not succeed finding my files.Deep scan find my files and let me restore them. I tried this by interrupting deep scan and using the given reults until I stopped. However, with this procedure I do net get all files. I am using a PC with windows 7 and 2 GB RAM. The scan time is not the problem, I ran it during the night, but I need reults. I will try with a macine having more RAM. Michael
