darossa
Hi all,About approximately since version 4.06 CCleaner is not being able to clear the recycle bin. I can still clean it manually by right-clicking the recycle bin and letting the files go. I'm running Windows 7 x64 and these are my specs:http://speccy.piriform.com/results/ZvOANs2qStBS1Q2Ld0fCF3SMight be relevant to say I run Kaspersky Internet Security and Rainmeter, but the first is more recent than the problem.I already read this thread...http://forum.piriform.com/?showtopic=36449...and proceeded to the unchecking of those options. Nothing helped. My CCleaner.ini file: [Options] Language=1033 SkipUAC=1 UpdateKey=01/29/2014 01:55:57 PM CookiesToSave=*.piriform.com|etc WINDOW_LEFT=516 WINDOW_TOP=69 WINDOW_WIDTH=976 WINDOW_HEIGHT=561 WINDOW_MAX=0 (App)Empty Recycle Bin=False (App)Temporary Files=False (App)Clipboard=False (App)Memory Dumps=False (App)Chkdsk File Fragments=False (App)Windows Log Files=False (App)Windows Error Reporting=False (App)DNS Cache=False (App)Font Cache=False (App)Start Menu Shortcuts=False (App)Desktop Shortcuts=False BackupDir=E:\Backups WipeFreeSpaceDrives=C:\|D:\|E:\|F:\ NewVersion=4.10.4570 RunICS=0 ShowCleanWarning=False SecureDeleteType=1 DelayTemp=0 DefaultDetailedView=1 SecureDeleteMethod=0 Please help
footballmouse
Um, just looking at your INI file, it says: (App)Empty Recycle Bin=False Surely this would suggest that your INI is saying to NOT clean the recycle bin? Do you have an image of your CCleaner Windows settings?
darossa
That's odd, because in the CCleaner UI there is no such specific thing... The only two options regarding the recycle bin are about adding entries to the context menu. The weird thing now is, I just manually changed 'False' to 'True' in the ini file, then relaunched CCleaner. The first thing now is that it prompts me whether to enable or not the smart cookies filtering, and I say yes. Next thing is an almost empty cookie list (I have added tens to the exceptions list, just removed them from the paste above). The ini file is still there with all my cookies saved, but the exclusion list won't show up in the program's interface!
nikki605
To verify the Empty Recycle Bin status, click on the Cleaner icon (not the Options icon) on the left side of the CCleaner window. Make sure the Windows tab is selected. Scroll down to the System group (category). Empty Recycle Bin should be the first checkbox in the list.
