  1. That's odd, because in the CCleaner UI there is no such specific thing... The only two options regarding the recycle bin are about adding entries to the context menu. The weird thing now is, I just manually changed 'False' to 'True' in the ini file, then relaunched CCleaner. The first thing now is that it prompts me whether to enable or not the smart cookies filtering, and I say yes. Next thing is an almost empty cookie list (I have added tens to the exceptions list, just removed them from the paste above). The ini file is still there with all my cookies saved, but the exclusion list won't show up in the program's interface!
  2. Hi all, About approximately since version 4.06 CCleaner is not being able to clear the recycle bin. I can still clean it manually by right-clicking the recycle bin and letting the files go. I'm running Windows 7 x64 and these are my specs: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/ZvOANs2qStBS1Q2Ld0fCF3S Might be relevant to say I run Kaspersky Internet Security and Rainmeter, but the first is more recent than the problem. I already read this thread... http://forum.piriform.com/?showtopic=36449 ...and proceeded to the unchecking of those options. Nothing helped. My CCleaner.ini file: [Options] Language=1033 SkipUAC=1 UpdateKey=01/29/2014 01:55:57 PM CookiesToSave=*.piriform.com|etc WINDOW_LEFT=516 WINDOW_TOP=69 WINDOW_WIDTH=976 WINDOW_HEIGHT=561 WINDOW_MAX=0 (App)Empty Recycle Bin=False (App)Temporary Files=False (App)Clipboard=False (App)Memory Dumps=False (App)Chkdsk File Fragments=False (App)Windows Log Files=False (App)Windows Error Reporting=False (App)DNS Cache=False (App)Font Cache=False (App)Start Menu Shortcuts=False (App)Desktop Shortcuts=False BackupDir=E:\Backups WipeFreeSpaceDrives=C:\|D:\|E:\|F:\ NewVersion=4.10.4570 RunICS=0 ShowCleanWarning=False SecureDeleteType=1 DelayTemp=0 DefaultDetailedView=1 SecureDeleteMethod=0 Please help
  3. Hi again, sorry for the long time, I downloaded CCleaner's latest version and reinstalled the most up-to-date versoin of Dragon too. Too bad I did it all before reading MrT's last post. The parts in parenthesis below are other possible translations from pt-br to eng. After running CCleaner, this poped up: "Could not read your preferences. Some features (or resources) might not be available and modifications in preferences won't be saved." Then I closed and relaunched Dragon, logged in my Google account and typed in the sync password. Shortly after it started syncing, there was this message: "OMG! There's been an error (maybe flaw) to Comodo Dragon. restart now?" Yes, then Dragon restarted and my settings were the way I wanted. Then I closed Dragon and ran CCleaner again. This time I hit the wrong hotkey and ran in auto, silent mode. Is there a problem? Finally I ran Dragon again. The following are my settings ini file, before and after. Just removed the cookies, but I believe there was no change at all: [Options] Language=1046 (App)Chkdsk File Fragments=False (App)Clipboard=False (App)DNS Cache=False (App)Desktop Shortcuts=False (App)Empty Recycle Bin=False (App)Font Cache=False (App)Google Chrome - Download History=True (App)Google Chrome - Session=False (App)Memory Dumps=False (App)Start Menu Shortcuts=False (App)Temporary Files=False (App)Windows Error Reporting=False (App)Windows Log Files=False BackupDir=E:\Backups CookiesToSave=*.piriform.com|and my other cookies... 4. There is something which doesn't make sense as far as I can tell, because it all happens outside the browser, when it's not running. After scanning with CCleaner, when I relaunch Dragon, then it's reset. Noted. I'll Scan for errors less often now, and will perform a cleanup without checking for registry errors just to eliminate this suspect.
  5. So, just updated and ran the test again. No luck. CCleaner has a conflict with Google Chrome. After scanning, Chrome took some seconds (which is odd) to load then displayed the message: "Could not read your preferences. Some features may not be available and changes in preferences won't be saved." And my settings got reset again. I forgot to say that I always run the CCleaner scan followed by a registry errors check (inside CCleaner, of course). Is this relevant?
  6. Oops, forgot to give that relevant info: Version is 27.2.0.0. Strangely, in the 'about Comodo Dragon' page, I see the message "update cancelled by user" (sure I didn't!)
  7. Hi, happened twice already: after scaning and cleaning with CCleaner, my default browser, Comodo Dragon, which is a modification of Google Chrome, gets reset: I get a message saying the settings file have been corrupted. Then I have to login again, insert the password to have my data resync. It takes several minutes until everything is back on track. OS is Windows 8, CCleaner version is 4.03.4151 64bits. Maybe it's relevant to post my installed extensions: AdBlock 2.6.2 Chrome RDP 3.15.14 (currently disabled) Comodo Share Page Service 0.1 Comodo Web Inspector 0.2 Foxtab Speed Dial 9.2 Lazarus: Form Recovery 3.0.5 MEGA - Secure Cloud Storage 1.4 Photo Zoom for Facebook 1.1208.30.1 PrivDog 1.1.0.72 TabsPlus 8.8.5 Vimium 1.43 I like CCleaner a lot and don't want to stop using because of this conflict! How to settle this?
  8. Sorry, I was unaware about the past discussions. I couldn't possibly know. I only based myself in the "currently" word.
  9. Come on, you think I didn't think about that? As any command line utility, they're for advanced users only. Besides, I always had CCleaner clean all errors, and haven't had a single issue in all those years using it. If the problem is that you can accidentaly delete undesired stuff, let the application run entirely on command line, not calling the main program GUI; after done, it will display a list of errors found. For each one, there could be that classic: "delete? Yes/No/All/No to all". What's the big deal?
  10. Hi, first I have to say that I'm a very happy CCleaner user. This program makes my life easier!! So, to have to make even easier, I'd like to ask you to: - implement more switches to the command line usage, something like /SecureDeleteMethod 1 /SecureDeleteType 1 etc, so the parameters entered by the user at the command prompt would overide, for that session, the configs stored in CCleaner.INI. Also, it would be a nice thing to have the registry cleaner operate via command line as well. But I guess that's already en route, since you put "currently" in the documentation. Thanks for your attention!
