C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Cookies\ Can Open With notrpad.exe Client UrlCache MMF Ver 5.2, 16,384 bytes 2. C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\ Can NOT open or view with "Windows Explorer.exe" even if set to show hidden and systems files and folders. 3. C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\ Can Open With notrpad.exe Client UrlCache MMF Ver 5.2, 32,768 bytes 4. C:\Documents and Settings\Current User\Cookies\ Can Open With notrpad.exe Client UrlCache MMF Ver 5.2, 16,384 bytes 5. C:\Documents and Settings\Current User\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Feeds Cache\ Can NOT open or view with "Windows Explorer.exe" even if set to show hidden and systems files and folders. 6. Total Files Listed: 8 File(s) You can not go by file size to see if the file is empty. 1. Browse the Internet to fill up IE with data. 2. Run Analyze with CCleaner shows only one index.dat (with Version 1.38.485 or 139.502) Even with options set to "Show detailed log of Internet Explorer temporary files" #7. **C:\Documents and Settings\Current User\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\MSHist012007042320070424\ 3. Run Cleaner doesn't show any index.dat as being cleaned. Even with options set to "Show detailed log of Internet Explorer temporary files" Running FREE "index.dat analyzer" shows data in HISTORY- Current User http://www.systenance.com/indexdat.php You can also use FREE "Super Winspy" to examine some of the index.dat files. http://www.acesoft.net/winspy/ I have only found booting with a floppy or a CD that runs a batch file that deletes these files to be the only possible solution so far. Windows XP protects these files, Vista is even more protective. This is a sick joke but a friend said "Maybe CCleaner should be called CDuster" I STILL LIKE THIS PRODUCT!! Settings\Admin\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\index.dat As you see I'm logged in as admin so CCleaner will not clean those index.dat files belonging to other profiles.
