Ganesan
Some times I get a message that files are not found and ccleaner says delete registry value. Is it directed towards the user or ccleaner will do it? If the user has to attempt how to do it? Cannot this be included in the program so that people who are not computer person like me can benefit? I find ccleaner very useful. Thanks. Ganesan

I am also thankful to Glen.I could locate the reference. Ccleaner is a wonderful program. I have a suggestion. When it goes to Regedit can the problem be high lighted for easy delete. Secondly all the while I have closed without deleting the registry. Is there any way to go back to them. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year 2007. pwillener
Whenever you run CCleaner Issues again, it will re-scan the registry and find the entries it wants to delete. Before actually doing the delete, you will be prompted if you want to take a backup (of the deleted entries); by all means do take the backup! Here in this forum there are a number of enthusiastic registry cleaners (users), and they will tell you that they never had a problem, and that CCleaner's registry cleaner ("Issues Cleaner") is absolutely safe. I on the other hand do not advocate the use of any registry cleaner, and no registry cleaner - including CCleaner - is 100% safe. I see no point in risking a computer's integrity by gaining a few KB of free space. Especially to people who are not computer savvy I recommend to stay away from registry cleaners until they feel a little bit more secure around a computer and its registry. If you know how to take a system restore point before running something potentially risky, then the time may have come to try it. This, of course, is only one user's opinion. I also do not believe that a computer becomes faster, or that possible problems get solved, by running a registry cleaner.
