Saving recovered dialogue box

Is there any way to save the information created in the recovery dialogue box?

It took about 24 hours to do the deep scan and the only way I can recover the photos saved on my 'failed-to-load' USB drive is to copy the preview and paste them to the clipboard and save them from there.  I have thousands of photos - recovering them to another drive only results in a folder with a file inside it called "DUMMY".  As this is going to take me forever to do and I don't want to leave the computer on permanently, especially if I have to go out, I would like to be able to open up the dialogue box again and continue with the recovery without having to start from scratch.  Can anyone tell me if this is possible please?

No, I'm afraid not. You can save a copy of the found files list, but it's just a list, that's all. It can't be used to restart the recovery process. You have to recover from a current scan.

I assume you're doing a Save to Clipboard and then saving that? That's very laborious. I don't know what you mean when you say that a recovery only produces a file called Dummy, I've never heard of that.

That's a shame.  I was hoping there was a way to save the recovered dialogue box.   Yes. not saving but copyingthe previews to clipboard and then inserting it into Corel PhotoPaint one at a time and saving as a .jpg from there.  If I try to open the recovered .jpgs I get error messages saying they are not valid, corrupted, etc.  Even IrFanViewer won't open them.  That's only  the ones it does recover. Yes, you are so right it's very laborious but at the moment it's going to be the only way I can save those precious pictures taken on the cruise ship I went round the world on, teaching quilting.  I had no means of backup on the ship and the drive (new in Hong Kong in March and working really well till now - not full up either as it's a 2TB one and guaranteed for three years (WD Passport) so not a cheapie) failed before I could back it up at home here. If I try to recover all the files by selecting all, then that's when I get the Dummy files in the recovered folders.   See attached screenshot.  If you have any ideas I'd be grateful.

Now here's the strange thing!  Yesterday it allowed me to take the files off and the photos were not corrupted.  Is it because it was Sunday?  Was it having a good day?  I still have a lot of corrupted files though.  Mainly Word and Excel docs.  Am wondering if I do yet another deep scan it they will revert back to normal!
