SSsrivastava
I am trying to recover images. The scan shows all the images and the state of the images is marked as 'excellent'. But when I recover them, they are corrupted and cannot be viewed using any application. I tried using IrfanView but that did not help as well. Any suggestions how I can get around this issue? Just noticed, header of the recovered file is NULL.
GTC
I have this same problem. Recuva appears to restore the file but the headers are corrupt. The file extension is .NEF Does anyone know of a utility that restores headers? Is there a walkthrough somewhere? NEF files share much the same header structure as TIF. Any help would be appreciated. Moderators Augeas Posted August 20, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 20, 2018 Recovery is not actually recovery, Recuva (and other recovery software) will copy the contents of the deleted clusters exactly as they are to a folder on another device. If a header is seen as corrupted it means that the cluster contents don't match the heade specification for that thype of file. In this case it is unlikely that the rest of the clusters will be viable either. In the O/P's case a header of null (zeroes) almost certinly means that the file has gone forever. In other words I don't think it's just the header that's been lost.
