Dave-H
I am using the latest free version of Speccy 1.29.714 with a Supermicro X7DAL-E motherboard. Everything is fine except that Speccy thinks that my board has 8 RAM memory slots, whereas it actually only has 6!

Moderators mta Posted October 10, 2016 Moderators Share Posted October 10, 2016 rest assured the Devs do read all threads. if they needed more info, they would have asked. as you have discovered, Speccy is not perfect. sadly most of it's misreporting is just firmware data it is passing on. Dave-H
Thanks, I guess Speccy is misinterpreting something that the system is passing to it, but it does seem to be the only thing that is getting it wrong!
gr71cj5
Same issue on Lenovo Flex 4-1480, I just took the whole thing apart after getting additional memory to upgrade with another 8GB since Speccy said their were two memory slots - nope - only 1 - Less than pleased - however, I have been using and recommending Piriform software for years and this is the first time I have had an issue - So, hundred plus systems, countless processes, first issue, track record is a whole lot better than the crap Microsoft puts out. Moderators mta Posted December 11, 2016 Moderators Share Posted December 11, 2016 just in case it helps, make sure you are using the latest recently released version of Speccy, available here; https://www.piriform.com/speccy/builds also, and I've only seen it in one laptop, but the back panel access plate gives you access to one area of memory slots, usually two, but there could be another slot under the keyboard. as I said, only seen it once, so check your specs just in case there really is two, and only one of them is easy to get to. Frank De Block Burij
same problem here: wrong number of RAM slots reported I have a AMD FM2-A55M-P33 motherboard I had 2 x 4 GB RAM modules = 8 GB Ram Speccy (wrongly !) reports that this motherboard has 4memory slots, of which 2 were used and 2 were free, I ordered two more 4 GB DDR3 memory modules in order to double my RAM to 16GB now I am stuck with 2 useless 4 GB Ram modules as there are only 2 slots, not 4 RAM Memory slots Total memory slots 4 Used memory slots 2 Free memory slots 2 Memory Type DDR3 Size 8192 MBytes Channels # Dual DRAM Frequency 798.4 MHz CAS# Latency (CL) 9 clocks RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD) 11 clocks RAS# Precharge (tRP) 11 clocks Cycle Time (tRAS) 29 clocks Bank Cycle Time (tRC) 40 clocks Physical Memory Memory Usage 65 % Total Physical 7.95 GB Available Physical 2.77 GB Total Virtual 23 GB Available Virtual 12 GB SPD Number Of SPD Modules 2 Slot #1 Slot #2 Edited May 14 by Frank De Block Burij added copy of Speccy analyse
