stefanjo
following an update on windows 10, ccleaner freezes and says "chrome needs to close". Then "shall ccleaner force it to close?" Then nothing happens until I start again and hit "cancel" on "chrome needs to close". Ccleaner then does the business but leaves all the chrome stuff alone, (cookies etc.) I have unticked the box in chrome settings about leaving "background" apps running, to no effect. Even when I first boot up and go straight to ccleaner, it still tells me that chrome needs to close and won't do the business. Registry cleaning is unaffected. What's happening please? Moderators Nergal Posted December 15, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 15, 2015 "Latest" means nothing. However it's likely chrome is still up in the background, make sure you've read and followed http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=40285 ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
