KongoOtto
Hello, I have an external HDD Had it formatted and copied new Files on it. When i use Deep Scan i got over 2000 files that are unrecoverable but you can identify them by the full file name and used path. I tried to Sercure Override the files but it don't work "Not overwritten -File is already overwritten by existing file(s) What can i do to clearn any trays of the old files? Moderators Nergal Posted October 19, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 19, 2015 They are unrecoverable because there's already data overwriting it (files on top) there for a secure delete (which overwrites data on top of the file) can't be performed. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. I see so when i copy all data elsewese, erase the HDD with lets say CCleaner's Drive Wipe (1 pass) and copy data back to the HDD, will that work? Moderators Nergal Posted October 19, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 19, 2015 Yes Caveat: that the wipe mft option in ccleaner is checked (I believe, though other members may be more certain on that point) ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.
