aydanron
Hey guys, I noticed that in recent versions of CCleaner, the Tools > Startup > Google Chrome tool can no longer delete or disable Chrome extension entries. When I try to do that I get an error that it's protected by the browser. This doesn't even work when Chrome is not open, and the actual folder for the extension in %localappdata% has been deleted. But an entry still shows up in CCleaner that I'm unable to remove. How do I delete/modify these entries in CCleaner?
Moderators Andavari Posted January 27, 2015 Moderators Share Posted January 27, 2015 You aren't the first person to report this. Just use Chrome to manage your extensions it has.
aydanron
Thank you for the reply. Yes I have already removed the extensions in Chrome as well as deleted the files. Are the entries in CCleaner just dummy entries? I tried looking for where they reside but didn't find any settings file in %localappdata%, nor any registry entries. Moderators Andavari Posted February 3, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 3, 2015 I don't know if they're dummy files or not. I've had an issue with it showing me an extension that has never existed (at least not on my hard disk) - perhaps CCleaner is seeing ghosts.
