amcabbott
I have removed search conduit successfully from my pc, however I have a bad registry entry somewhere and ccleaner is missing it. This is the registry error I still get at startup: Run DLL There was a problem starting C:\Users\(mypcsname)~1\AppData\Local\Temp\CT3299568\plugins\TBVerfier.dll The specified module could not be found. TBVerifier, dll was part of the malware so i obviously dont want to reinstall it but the registry error pop up on restart will not fix even after several runs of ccleaner. any fix available I have the newest version. Winapp2.ini
adwcleaner should help you remove all traces on conduit. It's updated fairly reguarly too. winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
dvdbane
the last time i've tried adwcleaner, it doesn't detect this you need to open CCleaner > Startup > Windows > search for entry like this "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Rundll32.exe" "C:\Users\xx\AppData\Local\TBHostSupport\TBHostSupport.dll",DLLRunTBHostSupportPluginrundll32.exe "C:\Users\(mypcsname)~1\AppData\Local\Temp\CT3299568\plugins\TBVerfier.dll" if i'm not mistaken,i've removed it using malwarebytes another similar thread in the forum http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=40029&hl=
eL_PuSHeR
Have you tried doing a manual registry search for that dll?
Moderators mta Posted December 16, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 16, 2013 in my experience, both AdwCleaner & MBAM have been excellent in removing all traces of the Conduit malware. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last.
