Should is set Windows Defragment to Manual, or Disabled, or ...?

I replaced Win defrag with DF (run as admin)-

I disabled Win auto-defrag, then set Win to Manual in services.msc (run as admin).

My thinking is that leaving Win Defrag in Manual allows it to continue building layout.ini (I assume that DF uses this?).

Are my settings correct for Best DF system performance, or should I use different...?

-The main reason I'm asking is that my contiguous MFT shows a couple of inches from the front of the C: drive one time, and then a couple of inches from the end other times?

What is moving data around?- Does DF use layout.ini, or what is moving my data...?
