lauhangwoo
Cos Speccy stucks at CPU detection with full CPU load. Please see the attached file for more information. Additional note: I need to set "Sensor=0" to launch CPU-Z on my PC. http://www.cpuid.com.../cpu-z.html#faq HWiNFO64 just works fine. http://www.hwinfo.com/download64.html mypc.zip
Moderators Nergal Posted July 12, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 12, 2012 please try 1.17 and see if you have better luck. lauhangwoo
I've tried every 1.12 to 1.17 version, but still have no luck. At least 1.11 works fine, so looks like something happend with 1.12.

lauhangwoo
Ah thanks, I wasn't aware of debug mode. I filled checkboxes and waited for few minutes, but it's just 10 lines of log file. Here it is. log.zip
Moderators Nergal Posted July 13, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 13, 2012 Thanks the developers will probably look at it, and see if they can figure anything out (feel free to run one in the working version too, probably wouldn't hurt for comparison and what-have-you) EDIT: Interesting the asian characters in your log are detected by Google Translate as Chinese, but couldn't figure out all the characters; I then switch it to japanese and got The specified file is not found Do you run a different language on your PC or is it in english? I also found many odd words in your MyPC file EXAMPLE 2012/05/08 Microsoft .NET Framework 4 —pƒZƒLƒ…ƒŠƒeƒB?XVƒvƒ?ƒOƒ‰ƒ€?Ax64-based Systems —p‚Ì Windows XP?AWindows Server 2003?AWindows Vista?AWindows 7?AWindows Server 2008?AWindows Server 2008 R2 Œü‚¯ (KB2656405) EDIT2: I searched for NewTreeNetwork.cpp and the only result found by search engine led back to our very own forum http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=35331&view=findpost&p=211423 do you have network connectivity on your PC? lauhangwoo
It looks like Speccy relies on CPUID library, and my PC can't run CPU-Z properly, so most likely that is the case. feel free to run one in the working version too, probably wouldn't hurt for comparison and what-have-you I've found my PC can run Speccy 1.11, but not in debug mode. It crashes immediately after I click OK, so I couldn't get any meaningful log file. edit: It's not BSOD. Speccy 1.11 crashes after I click OK. Do you run a different language on your PC or is it in english? Yes, I'm using Japanese version of Windows. do you have network connectivity on your PC? Yes, my PC has WiFi connection. Moderators Nergal Posted July 13, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 13, 2012 remember non meaningful logs may still be useful to developers, and speccy should have also created a dmp file on the crash which the devs may be interested in. Do you know the reason your PC has issues with CPUID? ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. lauhangwoo
remember non meaningful logs may still be useful to developers, The log file only has a singe line. [iNFO ] CPU SDK at: C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Temp speccycpuid.dll and speccy should have also created a dmp file on the crash which the devs may be interested in. There is, but the debug mode problem itself is unique to 1.11 so... Do you know the reason your PC has issues with CPUID? No idea. Everything I know is CPU-Z & HWMonitor by CPUID having the same problem on my PC, and I need to set "Sensor=0" to launch CPU-Z. Sensor - Set to OFF (or 0) disables sensor chip detection and voltages measurement. According to this page.
Moderators Nergal Posted July 16, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 16, 2012 cool, this information should help the developers out. I think you're right, and we'll leave the dump as it's for the olderversion and is proably needed for this issue.
