Moderators Nergal Posted July 17, 2011 Moderators Share Posted July 17, 2011 open your mozilla product (firefox thunderbird etc) & manually clean history, then try cleaning again ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. dynoroddy
Just tried that on my freshly patched Server 2008 R2 system. Still failed with exactly the same result. CCleaner 3.0.8 works perfectly on our other systems (Server 2003, XP Pro, Vista Business, 7 Pro, 7-64 Pro)

LaUs3r
Hi, I got the same issue as Robert, except with the current version. Microsoft C++ Exception CCleaner v3.09.1493 MS Windows 7 32-bit SP1 Intel Core2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz 4,0GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 ID=-1 PR=0 DA= RK= RU=32 CK=0 SK= VK= VA=N_MOZ_HISTORY CR=87 PF=0 EI=0 FL=103 IIT=0 FI=-1 SI=0 The error also occurs also with version 3.08, 3.07 works. Reason for this issue seems to be the Firefox history. When I uncheck "Internet History" in the "Mozilla/Firefox" section (tab "Applications"), everything works fine. Only when it's activated the error occurs. Best regards, LaUs3r

Have you checked the task manager processes tab to make sure all firefox (& any other mozilla products such as songbird, thunderbird etc ) instances are killed? Moderators Nergal Posted August 4, 2011 Moderators Share Posted August 4, 2011 I'll assume that prior to cleaning you are checking the task manager's processes tab to be sure no errant firefox.exe are running (often this is caused by a theme or a plugin not allowing firefox to cleanly exit) well, this is on the session manager page 1. WARNING: IF YOU ENABLE ENCRYPTED SESSIONS AND RUN CCLEANER DO NOT ENABLE THE OPTION TO DELETE FIREFOX PASSWORDS. DOING SO WILL WIPE OUT THE KEY3.DB FILE IN YOUR FIREFOX PROFILE AND MAKE IT SO YOUR SESSION MANAGER SESSIONS CAN NOT BE DECRYPTED! but that's passwords and says it'll break the plugin not ccleaner Can you do two Tests for us 1) uncheck everything in ccleaner (both tabs) except firefox history and run clean and see if it still crashes 2) disable session manager (just for testing) exit firefox and try to make ccleaner crash Are you sure that is the only plugin you are running that could even remotely be related to history?
