Defraggler right click options are under Open Containing Folder rather than Defraggler

Recommended Posts

I just installed the latest version of Defraggler and asked it to install the right click options so i could try them out. When I right click a folder there is now a Defraggler option, but no suboptions and if i just click Defraggler in the right click menu, nothing happens. If I do a search, then right click one of the files in the search results, Defraggler is there with no options, but now my Open Containing Folder has suboptions of "Check Fragmentation" and "Defragment" and now i can't do an Open Containing Folder on any of the files.

I'm running XP SP3, and Defraggler tells me my Defraggler is up to date when I do a check.

Actually, upon further investigation, it looks like the Defraggler right click submenu options are getting inserted for whatever is the first option in the right click menu, rather than under the actual Defraggler heading in the right click menu.

Hi,

I was experiencing the very same problem and found a solution. I found very little help on the web and even in this forum. After attempting to locate the problem in the registry and in windows folder associations, i was very frustrated. My solution was to completely uninstall defraggler to remove whatever setting were in force, then reinstall. There will be a reboot required of your computer before reinstalling to completely flush the old system settings. I used the File Hippo link to do the reinstall and used the most recent version 2.05.315.

Hope this helps, -doug
