  1. Try opening defraggler in Elevated Adminstrator Mode. Even though the icon may have the adminstrator shield, right-click the icon and "Run as Administrator." What this will do is ensure you get the dialog that asks do you want this program to make changes. Best, Doug
  2. Actually, I found the problem. Somehow the option to minimize to the taskbar tray became enabled. I cannot say how as I did not even realize this was available.
  3. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium on an HP Pavilion dv6. When I launch Defraggler, all looks good. If while Defraggler is open I also launch CCleaner, run a few things including registry clean, then close CCleaner, the active window and taskbar icon for Defraggler disappear. If I attempt to launch Defraggler again, a warning pops up saying it is already active. And sure enough, its listed in Task Manager. Since I am unable to get the window active again, I must kill the task and start over. I did not think these two would be interactive in this way, but apparently it can happen. thanks, -Doug
  4. Hi, I was experiencing the very same problem and found a solution. I found very little help on the web and even in this forum. After attempting to locate the problem in the registry and in windows folder associations, i was very frustrated. My solution was to completely uninstall defraggler to remove whatever setting were in force, then reinstall. There will be a reboot required of your computer before reinstalling to completely flush the old system settings. I used the File Hippo link to do the reinstall and used the most recent version 2.05.315. http://www.filehippo.com/download_defraggler/ Hope this helps, -doug
