Spike38
CCleaner 2.33, Windows 7 64 bit. What settings should I be using to prevent CCleaner from removing all contacts from my Windows Live Mail during cleaning??? (Haven't discovered yet what else may have been eliminated!) Moderators Nergal Posted July 1, 2010 Moderators Share Posted July 1, 2010 uh there is no reason ccleaner would delete any contacts. are you using the registry section or the cleaner section. I don't have live mail installed, but I checked through the ccleaner default cleaning rules and don't even see live mail listed. can you create one contact then uncheck everything on the ccleaner cleaner section (both system and applications tab) then do the following (slow ) procedure 1 check the first item 2 run clean 3 check if the contact is still there 4 if yes contact is there continue to 5 5 uncheck that item 6 check the next item 7 run cleaner 8 check if the contact is still there if yes contact is there repeat 5-8 until all items have been checked and unchecked or until the contact disappears. please reply here with the item/items which cause the contact to be removed ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
