Cleaning Cache

Recommended Posts

Priority:

Very Low

Synopsis:

IE/Firefox's caches are not cleaned when moved out of the default user profile

Description:

I've moved my Cache off my C: drive (as it is an SSD, moving the profile once caused me to loose the hard link to D: after a power failure and I had to rebuild the system). I've moved all caches and other dynamic files to D: when able so I've moved both IE and Firefox's cache to d: but CCleaner doesn't look at the settings and seems to only clean the default location.

Work Around:

Set CCleaner to delete the directories with the cache files automatically when run.

Preferred behavior:

CCleaner automatically determines cache location and cleans without user intervention.

Asking CCleaner to delete the files in the cache folder when you have moved them outside of the folder is like me asking you to get me some milk at a butcher. CCleaner looks only in certain places, which is why it is so fast.

I was hoping it would be easy to pull in the settings and insure the mappings are accurate. This is more me asking if the butcher to grind the meat for me, I could do it at home, but it's something he can do, it's just a bit more work for him and takes a second, but it is something he's equipped to do.
