Error enumerating Uninstall items

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Since a week, when opening the [tools/uninstall] page the following error occurs :

AtlThrow: hr = 0x80070057

CCleaner v2.31.1153

MS Windows 7 32-bit

Intel Core i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz

4.0GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT

Error enumerating Uninstall items

If there is something wrong in the enumeration of uninstall items in the registry I would expect this to be detected by the registry scanner. But this says everything is ok. Can someone give me a clue where to look?

Thanks in advance,

Are you still able to uninstall a program with ccleaner despite this error message?

Does add/remove programs in control panel work okay?

Did everything work alright up until a week ago?

Installed any updates etc a week or so ago?

The uninstall function of ccleaner works ok.

The add/remove programs function in the controlpanel also works fine.

The list of installed programs is identical.

Up until last week ccleaner did nog give this error.

The only thing updated are the microsoft update on 16 may (windows + office) and the daily virus definition update for the spyware doctor suite.

When the error occurred i was running ccleaner version 2.26 as a first step to solve the problem i've upgeaded to 2.31

Thanks for being helpfull,

Just to point out, ccleaner does nothing other then invoke the applications own uninstaller.

The same as m$ does.

You could try using regmon to see if any registry key is "access denied" when using the uninstaller.

No fate but what we make
