Have you checked the speaker to sound card / connection at the back of the PC? Was the sound working before you installed or updated software? Was it working until you powered down then restarted your PC the next day? Are you sure that in the case of powered speakers they are plugged into the power point? and turned on? OR are they USB powered speakers? if so, did you change USB ports?
