drwho
I would like to know what the undocumented DNS cache cleaning does and how Windows Vista handles DNS cache? It's saves the DNS and IP-address in a cache. So it's not needed to be resolved again and will speed it up. For example. Write "ipconfig /displaydns" in the command prompt in Windows XP. I don't know if it's works in Vista.

Moderators Andavari Posted January 23, 2010 Moderators Share Posted January 23, 2010 If you're using a big HOSTS file like the one from MVPS.org you won't even need to flush the cache because the service responsible gets turned off during install.
