derf130 Posted January 1, 2010 Share Posted January 1, 2010 Just downloaded CCleaner several days ago and made a complete cleaning run. Everything seemed to go well. However, after a couple of days, I discovered I cannot run the Microsoft Updater. I thought that CCleaner automatically made a backup copy before It cleaned the computer. I can't seem to run a Restore. I appreciate any suggestions. There are no other problems (as far as I can tell). Talldog9 Posted January 3, 2010 Share Posted January 3, 2010 Are your Automatic Updates, Background Intelligent Transfer Service and Event Log services running? Also is your Windows Installer service set to manual? If the problem seems to be the actual installing of the updates then you can try manually starting Windows Installer before installing the updates.
