Uninstalling IE 8 with CCleaner

Yes you can. :)

Just a suggestion, don't use the Registry Cleaner IF you do not know what you are doing. :)

CCleaner just launches the default uninstaller of the app. So it is safe.

Simplicity is hard.

Thanks! that's excellent advice on using the cleaner, one wrong decision could be the

difference between a clean computer or having a rather large door stop. It seems

some people are having issues with IE 8 and wondered whether or not they could

remove it, me included, I run Windows XP Pro SP2, normally add or remove would

be the way to uninstall it, on my machine that isn't an option, so thanks for the

heads up..

you can get windows updates with IE 7, if IE 8 is giving you trouble.

The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-)

Pssssst: ... It isn't really a cloud. Its a bunch of big, giant servers.

Not only removing it you wont be able to get windows updates some of your third-party software, including your internet security suite, may no longer be able to download definition updates, leaving you exposed to new threats.

No fate but what we make

When you remove the IE version visible in "Add or Remove Programs", Windows XP reverts to the IE version that was integral to the OS installation. For Windows XP SP2, that should be IE6. You can then update to IE7 if you want.
