DekkeR
Hi everyone, CCleaner 2.19.900 is not cleaning my start menu shortcuts. I uninstalled Daemon Tools and the shortcut remained in the start menu. I ran CCleaner (with the Start Menu Shortcuts checkbox ) and noticed the shortcut was still there. I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 64bits. Can anyone explain why? Thanks
Keithuk
Welcome to Piriform DekkeR. CCleaner 2.19.900 is not cleaning my start menu shortcuts. I uninstalled Daemon Tools and the shortcut remained in the start menu. I ran CCleaner (with the Start Menu Shortcuts checkbox ) and noticed the shortcut was still there. I think the idea behind Start Menu Shortcuts checkbox is it checks the short-cut to see if the file is available. If it isn't then it will delete the short-cut but if it is then is will leave it. Check to see if the short-cut still works. Keith Windows XP 2002 SP3 IE 7.0 Martin2k Rorshach112 is the best
DekkeR
Thanks Keithuk Welcome to Piriform DekkeR. I think the idea behind Start Menu Shortcuts checkbox is it checks the short-cut to see if the file is available. If it isn't then it will delete the short-cut but if it is then is will leave it. Check to see if the short-cut still works. No, it doesn't. If I click it, Windows tells me that the shortcut refers to a program that was moved or changed and asks me if I want to delete it. DekkeR
u can right click the start menu shortcut & choose remove from this list(aka delete)... I know I can, that's not the issue. I'm just reporting that CCleaner should be able to remove the shortcut but it doesn't
geebee
I have found the same problem. CCleaner used to clean the Menu shortcuts, and also the start menu shortcuts, and now they are all still there. With the new version, it has been taken away again. I know that we can right click and remove one by one.
