Scheduled Defrag [INI-df.exe]

Hello,

Thanks for putting together such a great tool!

I do have a question on scheduling. When I schedule the defrag to run with the Windows Scheduler it uses the df.exe file. Not a problem except the df.exe does not carry over the settings I use when I run the normal interface. In the normal interface I move all my movie files to the end of the disk using the settings available. I have tried to create the ini file but I am not sure what to do with it after that? Is there a switch to make df.exe read this file and use the same settings as when run in the normal interface mode.

I did look at the help files and I did not see to many directions on the ini file. The instructions just said check the box to save the ini file for batch scripting, but that is it. Is there a switch for this?

I appreciate any help you could give on this topic.

Frank

devguy,

I noticed this recently as well when I created a batch file to do a cleanup/defrag on my work computer at the end of every week. The setting I have in the GUI version is to move the larger files over 600mb to the end of the drive, but that doesn't happen with the command line version (df.exe). I didn't see anything in the docs that would explain how to do this either. It will be interesting to see the replies.

There's always an exception to the rule. I'm that exception.

Yes, I hope to get a solution. I really do not want to run the tool by hand all the time. Today when I checked, the scheduled version changed my data back to all files at the beginning. :(
