yz25098uk
hello. i think this CCleaner programme is great, and sorts out the DAT files which is a good thing. anyway, i have an issue. in the cleaner section, ive set it(unchecked ) the cookies box, so hopefully it wont clear the cookies. this is so i dont have to log in each time to all the sites i belong to. i have also, in the options/cookies section, moved all the ones which relate to sites i log into to the right hand column, the 'cookies to keep' column. but everytime i turn my pc on, its logged me out of each site i was logged into. i have all my log-ins set to 'forever' and never had this logging out automatically before. ive looked through all the CCleaner settings and cant see what im doing wrong? so can you advise me what to check/uncheck so it doesnt automatically log me out of every site i was previously logged into?? i really dont want to uninstall this programme as its lots better than the 'easy clean' one i used before i got this one. as you can imagine it takes ages to log back into all the sites ... cheers in advance. davey
Hello yz25098uk, Welcome to the forums !!! You need to do two things. 1. Turn off the option at Cleaner > Applications tab > Multimedia > Adobe Flash Player . Many sites now use "Flash Cookies" and these are saved in special places for Adobe/Macromedia . 2. Turn off the options at Cleaner > Applications tab > (Browser 1,2 etc.) > Cookies . These will be for whatever browsers that you may use other than Internet Explorer. I will post more info about "flash cookies" and normal "Cookies" later.See these informative posts and threads by DennisD , one of our forum Moderators for more detailed information. Moderators Augeas Posted January 3, 2009 Moderators Share Posted January 3, 2009 Yzetc, after you have run CC, go back to the Cookies page. Can you still see the cookies there - on both sides - or have they all gone? If they're still there then your 'don't delete' settings are fine, and it's probably flash cookies that you need to keep which Davey will help you with. If they're gone then your delete settings are incorrect and you need to follow Davey's advice above.
