NickWW
All of my FAVORITES folders in Internet Explorer (v7.0.6001.18000) in Windows Vista Ultimate were deleted when I ran CCleaner v2.14.763. Links not in folders did not get deleted. There is no ?Check Box? called FAVORITES to uncheck in order to avoid this happening. davey
Hello Nick, Welcome !!! Have you used System Restore to a point prior to using CCleaner? You are the first user I have heard from to report such an event for that version of CCleaner. CCleaner does not have any option to clean this area. Favorites are normally kept at C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Favorites in WinXP. What is in your Vista related area ? davey
NickWW
Hi Davey You just had to make me look deeper LOL. Thanks. I found my problem. The Favorites folder somehow got moved to "c:\users\user_account_name\DESKTOP\Favorites" instead of residing in "C:\users\USER_ACCOUNT_NAME\Favorites" in VISTA. I ran CCleaner after I moved the Favorites folder and reconstructed the links. This time it did not touch my Favorites. Sincere thanks NickWW
davey
NickWW Hi NickWW, Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I could have asked about many different scenarios. As a matter fact, I have found some of my users Desktops in the Cookies folder. Stuff Happens !!! Good luck, davey
