ralf
why does Defraggler not defrag everything the first time - e.g. you run it 1x then do nothing at all with the computer and have it Analyze the disk volume -- it will say 0 file frgged & 0 fragments on disk but run it anyway and... it will find and - putatively fix - both files and fragments WHY? what is going on? here is an example of it running the 2nd time - note the colored squares at top (R/W operations) even tho the two frag annunciators are at
davey
Hi ralf, Welcome to the forums!!! Your question and answer directly relates to your other post. The files and fragments figures that you are looking at relate only to files. When you defragment the "whole disk" as you are doing in this circumstance you are actually performing more than defragmentation. You are also moving data from the inside areas of the disk to the outside areas of the disk. This is called "optimization" of the disk. Some logical decisions are also involved in this data movememnt. Defraggler will have more and more "optimization" options and processes added as it evolves. See my answer to your other post also. Good luck, davey
