Chacoman
Does CCleaner find and remove adware and (or) spyware?
Moderators hazelnut Posted October 8, 2008 Moderators Share Posted October 8, 2008 I am afraid CCleaner is not a spyware/ adware remover. Are you having problems in that area? Chacoman
I am afraid CCleaner is not a spyware/ adware remover. Are you having problems in that area? Not really....I was just wondering. I have Bit-Defender on my machine and it doesn't like AdAware or Spybot so if I want to run those I have to disable BitDefender, install AdAware, run it and then uninstall it and enable BitDefender. (Pain in the butt.) Thanks
YoKenny
The question is does Ad-Aware or Spybot S&D find anything to remove other than tracking cookies? If they find adware or spyware then you need to block them with the HOSTS file, Windows Defender and WinPatrol. HOSTS files I use: http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm http://hosts-file.net/?s=Download Managed with HostsMan and I use its HostsServer proxy to speed up browsing: http://www.abelhadigital.com "Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school." - Albert Einstein IE7Pro user
