Hi fellows. May I know why does CCleaner show this error msg after I perform the clean?:

Thanx, it's puzzling.

Hello ralliart12,

Please put your answers next to the questions.

Have you run the CCleaner v2.05.555 before this?

Have you used any prior versions?

Same old questions I always ask.The data helps evaluate your problem.

CCleaner version ?

OS and version ?

Browsers and ver.?

Security software and ver?

Other data you think might be relevant?

What did you do and then what happened?

Provide a snapshot of your Windows tab options and Applications tab options .

Thanks,

:) davey

Hello ralliart12,

Please put your answers next to the questions...

Will do.

...Have you run the CCleaner v2.05.555 before this?

Have you used any prior versions?...

1st time running any version of CCleaner on this specific laptop

...CCleaner version ?...

The latest PORTABLE one on the CCleaner site.

...OS and version ?...

WinXP SP2

...Browsers and ver.?...

Firefox 2.0.0.12 & IE7(which I dun use)

...Security software and ver?...

Eset NOD32 2.7 antivirus, with WinXP SP2 default firewall. No other resident antispyware running in the background

Manual malware (only initiated when I use) is Spybot S&D, & Lavasoft's Adaware 2007

...What did you do and then what happened?

Provide a snapshot of your Windows tab options and Applications tab options ...

I just ran an analyze & then a clean, with NO major programs running at the same time.

The ONLY stuff I cleaned is:

For the Windows tab: everything under "System" except the 2 shortcuts options. Nothing further under Windows tab. I manage ALL temp. internet files myself manually.

For the Application tab: Just Nero Burning ROM. NOTHING else

Well, basically I ran an analysis followed by a normal clean.

...Thanks,

:) davey

Thank you very much

Can you apply this C++ update and try again.This is the first virtual address error I have seen reported for this version.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en C++ WinXP

P.S. Also make sure to reboot so new software will be loaded.

P.S.S. How long did the Analysis take? I forgot to ask earlier.

5.78 Gigs of cleaning!!! Is that an accurate figure?

Hi davey, I'm cautious abt applying new patchs to my system, since it's the only one I have to do my stuff, so I'll hold BACK on that library patch.

The next time I run CCleaner again, I'll see if the same issue re-appears.

The analysis took a couple of minutes, & 5GB of trash is correct, as I was trying to download the wikipedia 3.2GB dump a few times last week & it didn't succeed, so I guess the partial downloads stuck in temp.

Understood about the C++ update.

However a reboot is in order before the next time you run CCleaner.

There seems to have been some confusion about my prior instructions.

Let me clarify the matter.

If the error dialog box appears again when running CCleaner,select the Report

Button in the error box to capture a Report.

This report can be used by the "bug" fixers.

Is CCleaner made with C++?

Then why do we have this pinned topic in CCleaner bugs.

The topic is closed else I would ask in there. ;)
