Anthony A
I am looking for some recommendations on a good program for zooming/magnifying. There is no shortage of theses apps. Google searches bring up many of these things, probably at least twenty different apps. There is even a web site just for magnifying programs. Not many reviews though or recommendations from the usual freeware sites. So what are the good ones and what to avoid? This site has 37 different ones for Windows. http://www.magnifiers.org/links/Download_S...een_Magnifiers/

I will have to try that one out than. I have tried a couple others I didn't like. There are so many of these things I was hoping to avoid going through 50 different ones. Moderators DennisD Posted July 3, 2007 Moderators Share Posted July 3, 2007 You lost me there Dennis. I was wondering why you needed magnifier when you have Ctrl > mouse wheel. Then I realized the obvious: Doesn't work off line.
Anthony A
I was wondering why you needed magnifier when you have Ctrl > mouse wheel. Then I realized the obvious: Doesn't work off line. Also that Ctrl>mouse wheel does not zoom in on specific areas. It will increase the whole screen.
Anthony A
Well I tried about 10 of these things and the clear winner was Zoomit from Sysinternals. The program is only about 44 kb and requires no install. Like every program I have from Sysinternals this is excellent. Most of the magnifiers I tired opened another little window on the screen and magnified what ever the cursor was over. This one is totaly different. Activate the program and the whole screen magnifies. Move the mouse around to focus on specific areas and use the scroll wheel to zoom. You have to try it to see how good it is. It also lets you draw on the screen if you want. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysintern...ous/ZoomIt.mspx
