fireryone
One huge nice cat breed Maine Coon Google Images http://www.tantusmainecoons.com/about.html http://www.mainecoons.com.au/k_gallery.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maine_Coon Maine Coons are very large and energetic cats, sometimes weighing up to around 11-12 kilograms (25 pounds); the average weight is 6 to 9 kilograms (13-20 pounds) for adult males and less (7-11 pounds) for females. Male Maine Coons may grow to a length in excess of 1 meter (40 inches); the longest cat on record is a Maine Coon 121cm (49 inches) in length... ...Maine Coons are a breed distinguished by intelligence, dexterity, and playfulness. They have a tendency to use their front paws extensively (often curling the paw round to pick objects up) and as a consequence will easily learn to open cabinet doors, turn on water faucets, or pick up small objects. Some Maine Coons will eat from their paws, rather than eating from the bowl itself. Due to their above-average intelligence, Maine Coons are known to be one of the easiest cat breeds to train. Maine Coons are noted for their ability to trill their meows, which sounds like a combination of a purr and a meow, and they tend to make this sound when happy or startled. They are noted for rarely eating alone, preferring to eat in the company of other cats or humans. Maine Coons are usually not "lap" cats (possibly because of their large size), and thus are generally not comfortable sitting on a person's lap or chest, though this may depend on the personality of the individual cat. Some Maine Coons enjoy playing with, but not usually in, water. They may dip toys in their water bowls before playing with them, or just tip the water bowl over. They may also skim their paws across the surface of their water bowl. Maine Coons occasionally engage in mischievous behavior when bored, such as deliberately pushing things off tables and the tops of refrigerators with their paws. Maine Coons can be very dog-like in their behavior. Playing fetch is a favorite game. As with dogs, they will bring their ball, drop it at the feet of their intended playmate and wait for the ball to be thrown. They will often accompany their owner on chores like getting the mail, etc. Who needs a dog when you can have a cat like this that plays fetch! fireryone
LuLu
I love Maine Coones. We think one of our old kitties, Mittens (may she rest in peace), was a Maine Coone mix...similar features/size/temperament. They are so pretty and always seem to have such beautiful colors/markings. And if you like big cats, check out Ragdoll Cats. Beautiful, playful kitties. Can't wait till I get one. http://www.ragdoll-cats.com/descrip.htm http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/ragdoll.html http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/imag...oll+cat&sz= I'm here. Moderators rridgely Posted June 13, 2007 Moderators Share Posted June 13, 2007 Cats are devil animals. Dogs all the way. I have 2 of these sleeping on my couch right now: http://www.greenwichworkshop.com/media/ima...settPuppies.jpg Laziest animals I have ever seen in my life. But they are nice and liked to be touched.(unlike cats) I've just had too many bad experiences with cats. It seems like every time I touch one I get bitten or scratched. LuLu
I've just had too many bad experiences with cats. It seems like every time I touch one I get bitten or scratched. And people can say the same about dogs. I know people who've been bitten, scratched and downright mauled by dogs (and no, not while playing with them), but they still don't go around saying that all dogs are evil. There are good and bad in both species. I'm here. What are your other two wishes?
Moderators rridgely Posted June 13, 2007 Moderators Share Posted June 13, 2007 If I got mauled by a dog I wouldn't go near that type of dog anymore. But for me I've been bitten/scratched by all different types of cats. Cats are too crazy for me. Sometimes they like you to pet them one way then they bite you for it. So based on personal experiences that I've had I've decided that cats are evil.

fireryone
Yea it is a confirmed photoshop: http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/bigcat.asp According to the Ottawa Citizen, the picture actually shows an Edmonds, Washington, man named Cordell Hauglie and his cat Jumper, and the photo was manipulated with PhotoShop to create the effect of a feline of much larger-than-ordinary size. According to Mr. Hauglie: "My daughter wanted to send an electronic photo of her cat to her friend. I got a little carried away. When we sent it to her friend, we never dreamed anyone would believe the photo was real." He's had many chuckles over the analysis of the photo. Some viewers assert the cat appears stuffed, while others say it's standing, not being held. Still others suggest the man in the photo doesn't look as though he's holding a 40-kilogram object. Truth is, he isn't. His son held up the cat for one photo, proving you can suspend a cat in that fashion, and Mr. Haugliestood in the same light for the next shot." fireryone

I don't mind kittens, but I hate adult cats. Unless you've grown up with them, they never like you. Up until last summer, we had an 8 year old Black Lab / Newfoundland mix female.. size of a Lab, fur of the Newfoundland. Shed a lot! She had a weird disease... it really sucked...had to put her down... name was Abby. My mom couldn't go through the grief again.. so we didn't get another dog. Dogs still rule!! Moderators DennisD Posted June 18, 2007 Moderators Share Posted June 18, 2007 Well, don't have any pets to speak of, but I've a nice pic of my sons dogs I took while I was looking after them for him last summer. The white Boxer is Kiera, the other Molly. Every time I went out, they parked themselves on the stairs watching me drive away, and almost without fail, they were there when I got back. On this occasion, they were ready before I got out the door.
