Humpty
So far this year security vendor Akonix Systems has found 170 instant-messaging threats. This represents a 73 percent increase over the same period last year in instant-messaging threats. The figures show a sharp rise in instant messaging-based attacks, according to Akonix, with 20 threats detected in May alone, and an average so far this year of more than one new threat per day. Moderators DennisD Posted June 6, 2007 Moderators Share Posted June 6, 2007 I think the majority of regular internet users should have some knowledge by now about not opening anything they're not 100% sure of, but they are gonna hit a lot of new users. If it doesn't already exist, there should be an in-depth tutorial on this subject whenever someone boots up a new PC for the first time. I bought my PC last year, and there was no real advice about this type of thing when I first booted it up. I was lucky I came across a place like this before I fell foul of the malware maggots.
