  1. hmm not gonna use IE, may as well stick with FF i suppose.

are you suggesting that foobar is worth using instead of winamp?from my old gaming days id interpret "Winamp -> Foobar2000" as winamp owns foobar

seems to be a toss up between winamp, foobar, and billy player.they all sound good from what ive read

  2. hey i was just wondering does anybody know of any good low memory alternative programs for the following :

    -winamp

    -msn messenger

    -firefox

my pcs old so wudnt mind using programs that dont use as much memory usage.i heard Billy Player was good and that it runs on only 2,400 k compared to winamps 18k. i only want to play songs/playlists,dont need it for anything more complicated than that.

i love firefox but would consider changing it if a good alternative out there.

  3. just watched the indie movie Candy starring Heath Ledger.was pretty good with some amazing acting.interesting movie about drugs and what it leads to.the movie got great reviews also,so well worth a watch.

also watched Hot Fuzz which i was pretty disappointed with.i wasnt a major fan of Spaced or Shaun of the Dead, but i had high hopes for Hot Fuzz, shame.

since i know dennis will be only person reading this, you checked any of those movies i mentioned yet? :)

  4. two new movies ive watched lately, which i definitely recommend are "Trailer Park Boys - The Big Dirty" and "Near Dark" a 1980s cult vampire movie.

TPB was so funny, just like the tv show.if you havent seen the show your missing out.Near Dark was also pretty kool, and had one classic scene in it in a bar.the main actor in it is Nathan Petrelli from Heroes, was pretty good in it.

my to watch list consists of : Brotherhood, The Science of Sleep, Three Days of the Condor, The New World

  5. i remember trying mcafee maybe 2/3 years ago.it was so frustrating and it was really aggressive trying to get me to buy its other programs.have stayed far away from anything mcafee ever since.and pretty much the same story for pc tools AV.all we can do is inform people about the best programs out there, and hope newbies dont get tricked into buying mcafee and norton and other lame programs when they get their first pc

  6. ah cheers for the advice, didnt actually cross my mind to think about that.wud buy a premade pc myself, will definitely triple check everything if i decide to get linux os,always prefer to use caution concerning things im new @.

wat other operating systems wud u recommend getting/checking besides mac and linux?only really know those 2+windows

  7. Norton Internet Security may be good, but its a safe bet there are many cheaper/possibly free programs that will be just as good if not better.when i first started to use my pc(ages ago) i thought norton anti-virus was amazing for a few years, but now with hindsight i was totally wrong.

if you want the best security possible, your best bet is to use what the experts use,and i dont think many wud list any norton programs in that list.each to their own though, especially if ur pc is fine like dennis's :)
