  1. I think we have a misunderstanding.

I understand that you are advising me to get a 3rd party tool correct? If so read on.

Why should I use a 3rd party tool when CCcleaner should be doing that or have an option checkbox?

I am already using "CCleaner Options, Include" to remove these JS files, a lot simpler than using a 3rd party tool.

I am asking CCleaner to update their product.

    Thank you.

  2. I ran some tests as well. 1st - Ran CCleaner and cleaned up everything, 2nd - opened up CNN.com, went to a video which was blocked, 3rd ran CCleaner analyze only and looked at the cookies, nothing there for Totallzero, 4th ran Superantispyware and the Totallzero cookies were there, 4th ran CCleaner and cleaned up everything just to check, wne t back to Superantispyware and they were still there. @ Redwolfe_98, do you have the Totallzero manually included?

@Nukecad, try using 3-in 1 drip penetrant and soak the cartridge for an hour or so, it probably has rust or corrosion built up.

  3. I guess I spoke too soon.

CCleaner is not checking and cleaning NETWORK COOKIES

Here is an example as identified by SuperAntiSpyware:

    Adware.Tracking Cookie
        .homedepot.com\_meta_mediaMath_iframe_counter [ C:\USERS\"username"\APPDATA\LOCAL\GOOGLE\CHROME\USER DATA\DEFAULT\NETWORK\COOKIES ]
        homedepot-app.quantummetric.com\U [ C:\USERS\"username"AB\APPDATA\LOCAL\GOOGLE\CHROME\USER DATA\DEFAULT\NETWORK\COOKIES ]
        www.homedepot.com\kampyleSessionPageCounter [ C:\USERS\"username"AB\APPDATA\LOCAL\GOOGLE\CHROME\USER DATA\DEFAULT\NETWORK\COOKIES ]

For eediots like me, how and where exactly do we add the above to CCleaner? Are there any instructions on how to add these entries and do they have to be added one-by-one or can we just copy and paste? CCleaner's interface is quite archaic.

    1. Open CCleaner

    2. On the left hand side click options

    3. Click Include

    4. In the upper right hand corner click add

    5. Click either drive or folder if you wish to empty the whole folder OR click file if you want to delete an individual file. NOTE: follow my screen shot. They are all emptying folders.

    6. Click Browse and locate your deletion folder or file.

    7. Click OK

That should do it. It should look just like mine if you are using Chrome and Edge.

  5. For those of you who are impatient and upset, from my original 12/22 post, use the Options, Include.

I am re-posting it for you. This will tide you over until CCleaner finishes testing and updating.

Please note: Edge has the same issue with JS files as Chrome does.  They build up indefinitely.

You need to add options, include to add the JS locations for both Edge and Chrome.

Note: this include also takes care of the \Network\Cookies issue.

  6. @AndavariI do not know what the Winapp2.ini additions are. I am trying to use the vanilla CCleaner. I use the Options, Include for any junk files that CCleaner does not take care of.  Just to be clear, for Chrome and Edge, CCleaner IS cleaning \Cache\Cache_Data, but it is NOT cleaning \Code Cache\Js NOR \Cache\Wasm.

@hazelnut  I am looking for CCleaner to my cleaning in one operation. In Chrome and Edge I have cookies that I want to keep, therefore I do NOT want to delete all cookies on Edge or Chrome close.

I am using Chrome Version 97.0.4692.71 (Official Build) (64-bit)

  7. This is all about JS files, NOT cookies, the cookies were just in the screen shot. I believe if you look into where I have indicated the JS files are in my screen shot you will find hundreds of JS files.  I delete them regularly and find no performance hit or any other problems.

Check this https://www.zdnet.com/article/these-hidden-cache-files-are-bloating-your-google-chrome/ the same is true for Edge Chromium

If you Google chrome delete cache js files, you will find more articles.

I suggest that you give this an option in CCleaner under Chrome and Edge to allow the user to remove this JS bloat.

    Thank you.

    Andy
