  1. I just did a search through my entire computer, and i got about 340MB worth of worthless thumbs.db files. I understand that it would dramatically reduce CCleaner's speed, but it would be a nice option. Maybe couple it with a warning box, "WARNING about to use "Thumbs.db Cache" This will clear the image preview cache. This option will slow down cleaning times dramatically." Cheers.
  2. I have a quick suggestion. The current version of Defraggler only allows the user to defrag a maximum of one volume at a time. I don't know if this was intentional, or if it's just a bug that comes from the fact that when you start defragging the percentage window pops up. But anyway, my suggestion is to allow users to defrag multiple volumes at once. This is especially useful for people with multiple HDD's, where defragging multiple HDD's will not cause any sort of performance slow down, seeing as how the HDD's are separate and do not affect each other. Thanks.
  3. There's really no point in defragging files that are not fragmented. It's like peeling a banana that's already been peeled... It doesn't make sense, and it doesn't really achieve anything. (That's right, hard drives are like bananas blink.gif) That is unless you're referring to optimizing the files on your harddrive. However, yes, i do agree. Defraggler seems to completely defrag everything on your harddrive each time you do a full defrag, no matter how many times you defragged prior. This slows it down considerably. edit: Why did you edit your post?

    Frozen!

I have experienced 'freezing' issues when defragging very large files (4GB+). My computer was essentially frozen until Defraggler finished defragging the file in question, even though i was defragging a file on a completely different hard-drive from my OS (NOT a partition). Maybe the Piriform guys will look into some priority tweaks in the next release.
  5. The whole point of selecting files is to save time. Rather than needlessly rearranging/defragging the entire drive, you can save time by defragging specific files. Also, if you didn't know, you can right click your harddrive and select "Defrag Drive", which in turn will defrag the entire harddisk. Also, not to sound rude, but it seems as if you don't quite really know what fragmentation really is... There's no point in 'defragging' files with no excess fragments.
  6. I use PerfectDisk, and actually own a license, but i see a lot of potential in this great little program. One of the main features i see missing is an offline defrag feature. The reason i say this is because there are certain files that Defraggler cannot defrag, as they are in use by Windows. This may confuse newbies, since no matter how many times they defrag a file, the excess fragments won't disappear. Anyway, that's my suggestion for this otherwise near perfect and compact program. Really great work Piriform!
  7. Actually, the Windows defrag utility compacts your hard-drive after defragmentation, which is essentially the same as free space consolidation.
  8. For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, here's a picture: After using Windows XP for a long while, the list can grow quite large. To delete all the icons do the following, 1) Start>Run>Regedit 2)Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify 3) Delete the PastIconsStream and IconStreams values by right clicking each, clicking 'Modify', right clicking the box, selecting all, and press backspace. 4) Restart windows for changes to take effect Can you incorporate this into CCleaner? This would be quite a useful feature.
