  1. Some people still swear by Norton AV, I sweared at it back when I used and now swear to never use it again.

    Likewise. Then I had to convince my father, and friends.

    No different than Heinz or Kraft. People just assume it's the best.

  2. I find the registry paths here:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Gabest\VSFilter\DefTextPathes

    Also taken from the default registry settings the hint it has in it is interesting:

    Thanks Andavari.

    Edit:

    They are in both HKU and HKCU.

    On my PC the existing rule cleans both.

  3. Doesn't FileKey1 make your new additions of FileKey2 & 3 redundant?

    [blueStacks Logs*]
    LangSecRef=3021
    Detect=HKCU\Software\Bluestacks
    Detect2=HKLM\Software\Bluestacks

    - Corrected FileKey numerical order in winapp2.ini 4.08.131125

  5. It wasn't happening here with iTunes and Player.. until I opened QuickTime Picture Viewer which replicated the repair scenerio; creating the empty folder.

    I returned FileKey1 to it's former state, but left the change to FileKey2. Does this work on your end?

    - Corrected FileKey1 to reflect default install directory change

  11. Thanks for the update!

    The code below needs a stronger detect string for ResumeMaker. The code shows up on systems that do not have ResumeMaker installed

    [ResumeMaker Logs*]

    - Added Detect=HKLM

    - Added FileKey2 (The default location of the log files has been changed from %SystemDrive% to the Logs folder in the program folder since v1.9.8)

  13. I'd rather avoid removing language files with entries included in the main file template.

    Geez, that's what I'm trying to say...

    I was running out of ways to explain my concern.

    [Adblock Backups IE*] at http://forum.pirifor...420#entry240755

    removes all language files. What's that got to do with backup files?

    It's also full of a lot of other junk. I thought they were posted to scrutinize.

    I only posted 'English only' as a better option for the bone that submitted the above in the first place.

  14. New entries:

    [PrivaZer (Backups)*]
    LangSecRef=3024
    Detect=HKCU\Software\PrivaZer
    Default=False
    Warning=This deletes all Registry backups and nullifies any restoration of registry values.

    LangSecRef=3024
    Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Uninstall Tool_is1
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\Uninstall Tool|*.dmp

    English only for those interested:

    [uninstall Tool*]
    Section=Language Files
    Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Uninstall Tool_is1
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\Uninstall Tool|*.xml|RECURSE
    ExcludeKey1=FILE|%ProgramFiles%\Uninstall Tool|*preferences.xml
    ExcludeKey2=FILE|%ProgramFiles%\Uninstall Tool\languages|*English.xml

  15. Perhaps I misunderstand your query...

    Your entry from Winapp2.ini v4.06.130925 works fine as is:

    [Adblock Backups IE*]
    LangSecRef=3022
    Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adblock Plus for IE
    DetectFile=%LocalAppData%\Adblock Plus for IE
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Adblock Plus for IE|patterns-backup*.ini

    - Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adblock Plus for IE detects all correctly...

    - DetectFile=%LocalAppData%\Adblock Plus for IE is redundant.

    - [Adblock Plus IE Backups] would be a rename suggestion.

    Modified: [Adblock Backups IE*] at http://forum.pirifor...420#entry240755

    [Adblock Backups IE*]
    LangSecRef=3022
    Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adblock Plus for IE
    DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\AdblockPlusEngine.exe
    Default=False
    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Adblock Plus for IE|patterns-backup*.ini
    FileKey2=%LocalLowAppData%\Adblock Plus for IE|patterns-backup*.ini
    FileKey3=%WinDir%\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\LocalLow\Adblock Plus for IE|patterns-backup*.ini
    FileKey4=%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales|*.ini
    ExcludeKey1=FILE|%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales|en.ini

    - DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\AdblockPlusEngine.exe is redundant

    [Adblock Backups IE*]... there are no language backups. I don't understand why 'locales' folder is even in the 'Backups' removal rule modification?

    %ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales is the languages folder

    - FileKey4=%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales|*.ini removes all language files

    - ExcludeKey1=FILE|%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales|en.ini doesn't exclude 'en.ini'

    Your suggestion: excludekey1=PATH|%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales

    ...Doesn't exclude any content of the 'locales' (languages) folder.

    Haven't found any Adblock Plus traces at:

    FileKey2=%LocalLowAppData%\Adblock Plus for IE|patterns-backup*.ini
    FileKey3=%WinDir%\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\LocalLow\Adblock Plus for IE|patterns-backup*.ini

    But maybe someone else has; possibly with a beta installation.

    I have v1.1.0.0 Final installed

    These entries are working for me:

    [Adblock Plus IE Backups*]
    LangSecRef=3022
    Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adblock Plus for IE
    FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Package Cache|*.*|REMOVESELF
    FileKey2=%LocalAppData%\Adblock Plus for IE|patterns-backup*.ini

    [Adblock Plus for IE*]
    Section=Language Files
    Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adblock Plus for IE
    FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales|*.ini
    ExcludeKey1=FILE|%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales\|en.ini

  16. http://forum.pirifor...420#entry240755

    [Adblock Backups IE*]

    DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\AdblockPlusEngine.exe

    Not required.

    Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adblock Plus for IE already detects %ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\AdblockPlusEngine.exe

    FileKey4=%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales|*.ini
    ExcludeKey1=FILE|%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales|en.ini

    Removes more than just backups...

    Removes All language files including English.

    Here's the English only if someone wants it:

    [Adblock Plus for IE*]
    Section=Language Files
    Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adblock Plus for IE
    FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales|*.ini
    ExcludeKey1=FILE|%ProgramFiles%\Adblock Plus for IE\locales\|en.ini

    Suggest rename of original entry to: [Adblock Plus IE Backups*]
